Some people might see this as a major business mistake. I see this as leadership and a lesson in compassion. Don Vultaggio, the founder and chairman of AriZona Beverages, exemplifies true leadership with his steadfast commitment to community and philanthropy. Despite the relentless pressures of inflation, Vultaggio has kept the iconic 99-cent price of AriZona Iced Tea unchanged for over 30 years. His philosophy of prioritizing people over profits has not only garnered immense loyalty but also established AriZona as a symbol of consistency in a fluctuating economy. I don’t even drink this anymore, but I’m all about it. Vultaggio’s philanthropic efforts extend beyond affordable beverages. He has invested in local communities, supporting educational initiatives and other meaningful projects. His strategy to maintain the low price involves creative cost-saving measures such as reducing the aluminum in cans, optimizing production efficiency, and relying on grassroots marketing instead of expensive advertising campaigns. By choosing not to pass on the rising costs to consumers, Vultaggio ensures that everyone can continue to enjoy a refreshing can of AriZona Iced Tea. This dedication to affordability and community support highlights the potential for businesses to thrive while making a positive social impact. #TGIF #leadership #business

Leadership and Organizational Development Expert | I help individuals and organizations holistically understand the leadership process and how to operate optimally and maximize their output | Author | Consultant |Speaker
Chris V. Rey, J.D. displays the passion and genuine nature of an authentic leader in this video where he shows the vandalism at Barber Scotia College, an HBCU he was tapped to resurrect. As a leadership expert, I'm completely aware of how difficult it can be to display vulnerability and articulate utter frustration. His unadulterated exhibition shows he cares and leads with passion and conviction. Oftentimes, leaders are imaged as being stoic and resolute and without emotion. The truth is leadership requires a high emotional intelligence IQ (EQ) and empathy for those you lead most especially when those you lead are not necessarily an actualized entity yet. Leadership is not for the faint at heart. If you are able, please consider donating to Barber Scotia College at https://lnkd.in/gPF-kGzk. For help with your leadership and organizational development, please visit Finer Consulting Services at https://lnkd.in/gGf9wFUw. You can also learn more about leadership and organizational development in my book The Black American Church: Leadership Dispensation and Challenges available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, Walmart, and other online retailers. #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #organizationaldevelopment #leadershipeffectiveness #leadershipexpert #organizationaleffectiveness

Every organization has a founder's story. That story is the genesis point for all your organization has become over the years, and shows how your org has brought the vision of the founders to life. Luckily for Trees, Water & People, our mission still rings as true as it did on day one, and we've built a team that drives it forward based on shared values, diverse perspectives and clear priorities. To say we're aligned is an understatement. Hear it from one of TWP's founders, Jenny Bramhall, who shares her journey in this inspiring 2 minute article (that got me misty eyed toward the end): https://lnkd.in/gpBzMaY5

Greetings, nonprofit leaders and founders! Recently, students at Southern Utah University learned about the importance of #Advocacy, #Branding, #Marketing, and #BusinessDevelopment in our sector—lessons we can all benefit from. As we know, effectively communicating our mission and reaching our target audience is pivotal. Yet, despite our noble causes, we often overlook the power of strategic communication. An insightful event, Business Day on the Hill, spotlighted this crucial aspect. It reminded us that strategic advocacy not only amplifies our cause but can significantly attract support. So let's wear our passion on our sleeves, weave our mission into compelling narratives, and make every interaction count. It's time to embrace these less-explored realms of good doing. Let's keep inspiring, advocating, and building communities. We're making a difference, and with better storytelling and innovative strategies, we can make an even more significant impact. Your work matters immensely. Stay courageous. Stay curious. Let's #GiveHopeDaily and reshape the world! Thoughts? Share below! #NonprofitLeadership #MarketingStrategies #NonprofitMarketing #BizOntheHill #BusinessAdvocacy

I had a great time hosting a NeuGroup DEI session last week to celebrate Juneteenth with not-for-profit CDFI Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), and four of their corporate investor partners. LISC's Michelle Spivak and I facilitated a robust roundtable talk with several corporate leaders on their company's efforts to fund initiatives with real impact in underserved communities, including: - DuPont Treasurer Mike Heffernan, CFA - Wayfair Head of IR and Treasury James Lamb, CFA - DICK'S Sporting Goods Director of Treasury Joshua Conklin, CTP and - Costco Wholesale Chief Diversity Officer Alison Francis Takeaways for corporate treasury leaders: - Your childhood zip code still significantly impacts your life and finances - Partnering with experienced organizations like LISC on impactful initiatives in underserved communities can make a tremendous difference. - You can get involved with impact investing through several avenues, including donations, impact bonds, impact funds, and volunteer activities. - The long-term trend is clear: Corporate America plays a crucial role in promoting inclusivity and leveling the playing field. - The earlier you jump in, the earlier you can be a part of the solution. Stay tuned for more discussions and corporate case studies in the coming months. Joseph Neu Greg Manko

Another remarkable Service Awards celebration is now in the books. What sets this awards show apart for Lennar’s Associates is that it is entirely crafted with them in mind. Lennar ‘s leadership understands what their associates want: the need to have fun, be inspired, and the opportunity to give back. We always inject something a bit wacky, like an electric blue mocktail leaving some looking like they just ate a box of blue Nerds. Whatever it may be, it's always enjoyable! Associates leave inspired—associates are recognized and applauded for years and years of service. In fact, two associates were honored for an incredible 40 years (yes, 40 years!!) of loyal and treasured dedication. And no honoree walks away with a mere parchment certificate; they leave with plaques ready to be displayed. Giving back is a core focus. Over a third of the program is dedicated to showcasing how their culture actively seeks opportunities to contribute to the community and seizes those philanthropic chances. I often see organizations attempt mental gymnastics trying to entertain employees, hoping it will be sufficient for fostering bonds and shaping a culture. But it rarely does. The approach here is refreshingly simple: make it fun, leave people inspired, and actively seize opportunities to give back. #eventplanner #eventmanagement #culture #design #creative #philanthropy

We ask the clients who we’ve worked with for years, “Why keep investing in this relationship?” Jeff King, partner at Highland Wealth in Baton Rouge, shared this… “Each and every time we meet, the results keep getting better. It’s always good, in my opinion, to have somebody that’s not sitting in Highland Wealth each and every day that can continue to challenge us, help us grow, and give us great ideas.” That’s what we bring to the table – the no-nonsense, outside perspective our coaching clients need to see their business, challenges, and opportunities through a different lens. We can do the same for you. It starts with a conversation. #batonrouge #neworleans #phoenix #tulsa #businesscoaching #leadershipdevelopment
