🏆 Peace mission 🕊️ 🇺🇳 Over the past 45 years (September 1977 - September 2024), the cooperation between Vietnam and the United Nations has yielded positive results, fulfilling both Vietnam’s needs and interests at various stages, while enhancing Vietnam’s role, voice, and contributions to the United Nations. These achievements have paved the way for future joint efforts between #Vietnam and the United Nations to address remaining challenges, further expand and improve the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation. This will also actively faciliate Vietnam's national development and international integration, while enhancing the role of the United Nations in the new era. https://lnkd.in/gwTvaKpu

In light of the unprecedented global challenges and the complex daily issues surrounding climate change, regional conflict, hunger eradication and sustainable development, CELAC is strategically positioned to be the regional voice and advocate at the international level on common issues which affects persons in this region of the world. Specific to hunger eradication, the CELAC Plan for Food and Nutrition Security 2025 will serve as a cross-cutting tool for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and will also encourage Latin American and the Caribbean countries to redouble their efforts to identify key areas that will make it possible to speed up and consolidate the process of eradicating hunger while tackling the twin burden of malnutrition. https://lnkd.in/eiuxcQPG

Director for the Edmund Rice Centre **Any opinions expressed are my own and not necessarily those of the Centre**
A strong statement of solidarity by the Melanesian Spearhead Group with the First Nations of Kanaky (New Caledonia) underscores the importance of addressing historical injustices and current calls for independence and self-determination. Silence in such matters can be deafening. Australia's commitment to a First Nations approach in foreign policy highlights the urgency of standing in solidarity with the region and using Australia’s considerable weight as a middle power to amplify voices from the Pacific family on critical issues such as this. It will be interesting to see how one distant colonial era relationship is balanced against the principles of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP) which Australia is a signator and other First Nations of the region. This at a time where the world’s gaze is squarely on France. #solidarity #FirstNations #foreignpolicy #MelanesianSpearheadGroup #UNDRIP

37M👀views.Advocating for PEACE by Connecting the dots | Passionate about driving systemic change for a peaceful regenerative future #Mission2030 We must unite for #Peace 🙏☮️
🇷🇺SERGEY LAVROV: "We are witnessing a profound transformation of international relations triggered by the formation of a fairer and polycentric system of international order. It would reflect the entire gamut of cultural and civilizational diversity of the modern-day world and ensure the right of every nation to determine its own future and its own path of development. The stronger voice of the Global Majority—the countries of Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and the Caribbean—which are not part of the collective West, is a major trend now. Only by uniting our ranks can we truly and effectively promote a vision of a just future shared by all of us. In this context, it is important to strengthen the role of the country-to-country groups that advocate balanced and equitable approaches to international development. We are talking about formats that reflect the principles of equitable cooperation in practice rather than in words. These include, along with BRICS, the SCO, the African Union, the EAEU, the CIS, ASEAN, LAS, CELAC, the GCC, IORA, and many other organizations. The chairs of many of these organizations are here with us." Sony Thang X #Peace #Brics #SCO #AU #EAEU #CIS #ASEAN #LAS #CELAC #GCC #IORA #RETHINK #NATO towards peace ✌️☮️

Living together in peace is all about accepting differences and having the ability to listen to, recognise, respect and appreciate others, as well as living in a peaceful and united way. The UN General-Assembly, in its resolution 72/130, declared 16 May the International Day of Living Together in Peace, as a means of regularly mobilising the efforts of the international community to promote peace, tolerance, inclusion, understanding and solidarity. The Day aims to uphold the desire to live and act together, united in differences and diversity, in order to build a sustainable world of peace, solidarity and harmony. “In a world where conflicts are multiplying and polarising ideas as much as societies, this Day reminds us that it is precisely when this horizon of peace seems distant that we must relentlessly build this ideal of concord and social cohesion.” - Audrey Azoulay, UNESCO Director-General Generations For Peace UNDP United Nations

It’s embarrassing that I can’t name even half of the 54 African countries, and I struggle to place some of them on a map. So I look for news about the ones I’m less familiar with and post it here, hoping to remember them better. The Sahel States (Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso) are landlocked and knowing that, it’s clear why this initiative is so significant for them. “Sahel States have lauded King Mohammed VI’s initiative aiming to facilitate their access to the Atlantic Ocean, as a ‘highly important strategy’ for co-development and prosperity in the region and as a move that will help the Sahel states diversify their sources of access to the Atlantic.” Via Monty Simus Wildcats and Black Sheep (https://bit.ly/3O5er3j) https://lnkd.in/gEAWkwPb

Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger sign 'confederation' TREATY. ECOWAS collapse is a matter of time. Putting your country first. As a Pan-Africanist, I must commend this treaty. Any African leader who understands our history, and takes his time to understand the current influence of the west in Africa, if he means well for his people, he will align and grow this alliance. The value of an alliance is in the ideology that forms it. African Union, ECOWAS and many treaties African Free Trade Treaty are all Initiatives of deep control by the west, a more finer and modern form of regional colonialism.
