Today, we honor and celebrate Juneteenth, a pivotal moment in American history. 🎉✨ On June 19, 1865, Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced the end of the Civil War and the freedom of all enslaved people in Texas. This momentous day came two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, which had officially outlawed slavery in the Confederate States on January 1, 1863.
