How do you tell the world an icon has passed? Words fail but Jack Connors, founder of Hill Holliday, was more than words. He was defined by his actions, the lives he lifted and the ongoing social efforts that will carry on for years to come.    Jack was once called the ultimate insider. The man behind so many of the major issues affecting our community and beyond. Truth be told, Jack was the ultimate connector, pulling people around bigger goals, creating outcomes bigger than themselves. When asked if he had a personal motto, Jack sort of winked and said, “I have nothing more to prove, but a lot more to give.”    You gave us everything and then some, Jack. Every day we continue to be inspired by your fine example: Hungry Humble Human.

So grateful to be “a graduate of the program” as Jack introduced me many years ago. Weren’t we all so lucky to learn from him – how to treat people, how to believe in yourself, how to go get what you want in life, how to cherish your family and everyone you love. As Mike said so beautifully in the Globe, “Jack, we love you”. Skip and I send our love and most heartfelt condolences to John, Susanne and all the Connors family. Thank you for sharing him with us.

I was a young director's rep just out of college. Several times I'd be waiting to see a producer or a creative sitting near the front desk. Jack would pass by a few times. After 10/15 minutes, he'd still see me waiting, and he would ask me who was I seeing. Always dressed extremely dapper, big smile and handsome. Jack gave me Kennedy vibes. I'd tell him who I was there to see, and less than a minute later, the person, would come to greet me. This happened on many occasions. Speaks volumes.

Sad to hear about Jack. He was my first employer. Although I spent only two years there, he always remembered me when I ran into him at events. An amazing businessman but an even better person. My condolences to the Connors family.

I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Jack, but his influence was felt very much during my time at HH '08-'15. Thanks to Jack Connors for gifting us a family away from home, and for the impact he's made in the Greater Boston community. A true legend and example to live by.

Rest In Power -- to a legendary figure in the advertising business. Jack was a mentor and guiding light to me and so many young gun creatives who came out of Boston. Visiting with him at Hill Holliday's old location in the Hancock Tower was a rite of passage as I created my first writing portfolio.
