Retail Manager: "You've missed your sales goal again this month and you're responsible for 30% of the business. How can I help support? " Retail Associate: " I don't have enough time to clientele and outreach due to tasking. You and the ASM are always on business calls in the back, and interviewing since we have turnover vs. being on the floor to help support. The schedule for me is not flexible and closing alone missing sales. If we could get a little more coverage, I could just sell during peak times vs. tasking or coming in for floor sets during non-sell hours and have more time to outreach I could hit my goals." This is too real and another way Reflex can help. Sometimes you don't need a permanent hire, but you need extra support weekly to give back time to your sales associates! Having support from Reflex has helped free up time for teams to focus on selling, and allow the Leadership team to support and not be in the back doing operational tasking. #Reflex #retail #retailmanagers #managers #retailindustry #flexible #smart #solutions #thinksmarter #thinkdifferent

From Candidate to Client: How Unexpected Turns Shape Success I just had a conversation with a client I've known since I began recruiting nearly 20 years ago. I first cold-called his store back in October 2005 when he was a Store Manager for an outdoorsmen retailer, fresh out of college with a major in Biology. At the time, he had worked part-time as an associate while in college and full-time during school breaks. When graduation came, senior leadership noticed him and offered him a Store Manager position. He accepted it as a temporary solution while he sought opportunities aligned with his education. Fast forward nearly 20 years, and he's now the SVP of Stores for that same company! He's played a key role in breaking into new markets and expanding the company's footprint. So, while I didn't manage to recruit him back then, we've remained connected. We've referred talent, shared market insights, and partnered on filling crucial positions. You never know where that one call might lead. Even if someone isn’t the right fit for a position or isn’t using outside search services at the time, you can still find and add value. ⭐ Thank you for your continued partnership.⭐ #retail #retailindustry #changingcourse #partnership #bringvalue #wholesale #supplychain #distribution #fulfillment #ecommerce #staffingneeds #searchsupport #openpositions #jobs #ceo #cfo #coo #cio #vpofstores #outdoorsman #homeandfarm #agretail #specialtyretail #ruralstores #districtmanager #regionalmanager

Every now and then, we all need someone to bet on our potential... Luckily, I was given that chance back in 2010. I was doing my first role out of college as a field sales representative covering 6 Home Depot stores in Orlando, FL. Not the most glamorous stocking shelves, putting up literature, and selling in the aisles.... but it taught you about the brands, how Home Depot operates, and the end user which was crucial. I was proactive and befriended a local high-flyer in the company, Mike Heist, and built some rapport. When an opportunity for a promotion came up, I wasn't at the top of the list. But since I was bold networking within the company I got a shot. I had a 2 hour heads up and drove straight there with little time to prep. Ended up interviewing with Mike and another sales leader, Daniel Jonke (pictured above). Was definitely nervous, fumbled at times, but did a good enough job to get the offer. I feel pretty confident I wouldn't be where I'm at now if I wouldn't have gotten that first promotion at Milwaukee Tool/TTi. Appreciate Mike, Daniel, and the entire regional team that ended up hiring me to come on board. Came full circle recently when I reconnected with Daniel at an event 14 years later. The lesson here is you always will need someone to throw you a bone to really break out in your career, you need to be proactive with networking, and do hard things on purpose so your prepared when you get a shot! 💪🏼💪🏼 #mindset #sales #habits

If you’re a store owner still working behind the counter, you’re holding your business back 🛑 As Dan Martell says in "Buy Back Your Time" , the key is this.... Don’t hire to grow your business — hire to buy back your time. Many brick-and-mortar retail founders stay stuck in daily operations—working the register, handling inventory, or managing customer service. While these tasks are important, they keep you from focusing on the high-level strategy that actually scales your business. So, how do you start freeing yourself up? Do a Time and Energy Audit 🕒⚡ 1️⃣ Start by breaking down where you’re spending your time and energy throughout the day. 2️⃣ Identify the tasks that drain your energy and don’t directly contribute to growth. 3️⃣ Then, group those tasks by the ones that cost the least to delegate—things like: - Running the register - Managing inventory - Routine customer inquiries - Email and Calendar Management 4️⃣ Build a Job Description from that list. This will give you a clear picture of what you can hand off, freeing up your time to focus on strategy, improving customer experience, or opening that next location. The goal isn’t just to hire more—it’s to buy back your time and focus on what really drives growth. #retail #smallbusiness #operations #brickandmortar #buybackyourtime #hiring
