In a significant stride forward, Wasco Berhad, through its Engineering and Fabrication arm, continues to make impressive headway on its flagship Angola FPSO project. This update follows our initial report from October 2023, marking another milestone in the ongoing development. To revisit the project's origins, Wasco secured an EPC contract in December 2022 from a major global player in the FPSO sector. The contract involves delivering seven large topside modules for an FPSO destined for Angola. Demonstrating remarkable efficiency, we had also updated that Wasco completed 90% of the model review ahead of schedule. Reflecting the Company's unwavering commitment to its “Goal Zero” and on-time delivery, Wasco has risen to a new challenge from its client. The task: to deliver three out of the seven critical modules, two weeks ahead of the agreed schedule. Embracing this ambitious target, Wasco is making steady progress, while ensuring that the remaining four modules will be delivered according to the agreed timeline. A standout aspect of this achievement is the planned early delivery of two Power Generation Modules. These modules are the powerhouse and heart of the FPSO, each weighing a formidable 2,500 tonnes, underscoring the scale and complexity of the task at hand. This progress is a testament to Wasco’s agility and ability to comprehend client exigencies, which is credited to the guidance of the leadership team and the collaborative efforts at the operational level. Safety remains paramount, with the project logging an impressive 5.2 million man-hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI). “Wasco’s unwavering commitment to safety and quality has been key to achieving this accomplishment,” said Balaji Govindan, Vice President, Operations of Batam yard. As Wasco continues to advance this critical project, further updates are anticipated in the coming weeks, promising more milestones and achievements. Stay tuned for more updates as we track the progress of this significant undertaking. #TeamWasco #EngineeringFabrication #FPSO #SafetyQuality #TopsideModules #OnshoreModules #ProcessModules #SubStations #EHouse #PAU #PAR

bp, operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) field, announces the spudding of ACE's inaugural production well. The Azeri Central East (ACE) platform, having undergone meticulous offshore hook up, installation, and commissioning, commenced drilling after its successful departure from the Bayil fabrication yard in August 2023. With a projected depth of 3188 meters, the well's completion is anticipated within three months. Gary Jones, bp's regional president, conveyed strong optimism regarding the attainment of the ACE oil production target by early 2024: “We are excited to commence drilling the first platform production well on ACE. This allows us to meet our first oil production target for ACE and deliver it in early 2024. A great deal of preparation has been made to assure a safe and robust drilling programme using our experience, as well as our innovative approach, automated processes, and advanced technology. We look forward to delivering this first ACE production well safely, efficiently and on schedule.” The $6 billion ACE project signifies a pivotal advancement in the Caspian Sea's ACG field, designed to process 100,000 barrels of oil daily. 🎤 Nexstep keynote speaker at SPE Well Decommissioning Conference At the SPE Aberdeen Well Decommissioning Conference (June 4-5), Nexstep - National Platform for Re-use & Decommissioning will give a keynote presentation on approaching and testing Through Tubing Cementation (TTC) qualification. TTC is a method for the abandonment of wells. An important feature of TTC is that it does not require a drilling rig. Besides presenting TTC, Nexstep also highlights the positive results achieved by the Joint Well Campaign (JWC). Nexstep presents the approach, techniques used, lessons learned and results achieved. The JWC is the first campaign in the world where operators have worked together to decommission wells on this scale. The campaign highlights the importance of good mutual cooperation. 🔗 Nexstep encourages knowledge sharing, promotes effective and efficient regulation, and implements innovative techniques. This is exemplified by qualifying the TTC method and coordinating the JWC. ▶ More information Visit the SPE Aberdeen Well Decommissioning Conference website for more information and the conference program: https://lnkd.in/eftGezQS. #nexstep #decommissioning #wells #innovation #collaboration

Nexstep to present at SWIPA conference (13-14 March) in Trondheim On 13 and 14 March 2024, Nexstep has been invited by the organisers of the SFI SWIPA conference in Trondheim to share its knowledge of the recently concluded ‘Joint Well Campaign’ (JWC). In addition, Nexstep will be explaining the qualification process for the use of Through Tubing Cementation (TTC). Abroad, this technology is widely used for the dismantling of wells. The benefit of this method is that it does not require a drilling rig. TTC Nexstep promotes the sharing of knowledge, encourages effective and efficient regulation and implements innovative techniques. For example, Nexstep recently prepared a report on the qualification of the TTC technology in line with the current industry standard. During the conference, Nexstep will explain the approach for the qualification and will present the results of in-well testing. JWC The volume of decommissioning and dismantling activities is growing worldwide. Cooperation during dismantling activities increases both the effectiveness and efficiency. The positive results of the JWC campaign concluded by Nexstep at the end of 2023 underline the importance of cooperation. This is the first campaign anywhere in the world in which operators have collaborated on this scale in the dismantling of wells. During the conference, Nexstep will explain the procedures, the techniques employed, the lessons learned and the results of the JWC. About SWIPA SWIPA (Subsurface Well Integrity Plugging and Abandonment) is a centre for research-based innovation, appointed by the Norwegian Research Council. SWIPA aims to obtain a scientific understanding of the permanent dismantling of production wells and to promote innovative design methodologies. #nexstep #decommissioning #collaboration #innovation #wells For the SWIPA conference programme, see: https://lnkd.in/dUE6AhZZ

Aker BP concludes every year with a townhall highlighting deliveries the organisation is proud of – large and small. The competition is called “To be proud of”, and the jury is the Executive Management Team in Aker BP. Another winner of 2023 is the Yggdrasil Common system design freeze. Before the summer, the Yggdrasil development passed the common system design freeze. Then, the interfaces and battery limits relevant for the common systems are frozen, and all field system responsible identified. Reaching this milestone was crucial for the further maturation and coming engineering milestones in the Yggdrasil development. The Yggdrasil area consists of three independent platforms, tie-ins of subsea fields, onshore power from shore facilities, onshore operations centre and a ground-breaking operations strategy. The interfaces are complex, and this is probably the most complicated interface project ever on the Norwegian shelf. Peter Kupka Oda Giske Schjøll #Yggdrasil #oneteam #tobeproudof
