500 people, including many apprentices, are working on the Hugin A utility module at Aker Solutions in Egersund. The 7000 tonnes module is the largest new build project for many years at the yard. In October, the assembly of the module started at the yard when the first two sections were lifted on to the grillage. A major milestone for the project. Hugin A is part of Aker BP’s Yggdrasil development. The Norwegian share of investments in Yggdrasil is approximately 65 per cent. Several hundred Norwegian suppliers are directly involved in Yggdrasil, and the project is expected to contribute to 65.000 full-time equivalents in Norway through development and operation.

Leirvik AS has recently completed the third and final major section lift on the Hugin A living quarters. The lift was carried out safely, on plan, and the module now rises over 40 metres at the quay on the yard. 350 people at Leirvik work with the module, with outfitting activities as main activity. Next autumn the living quarter module will be transported over the fjord to Aker Solutions at Stord for assembly on the Hugin A topsides. Hugin A is part of Aker BP’s Yggdrasil development. The Norwegian share of investments in Yggdrasil is approximately 65 per cent. Today marks the production start of the Ula field. Ula is also the field center for the Tambar group, Oda, and Blane fields. When Ula officially started production in 1986, the ambition was to produce for 10-11 years. However, today marks 38 years of production, and Ula has produced more than three times the volumes compared to the PDO-estimates. Ula is now in its late life phase and has plans to continue safe and reliable operations until cessation of production in 2028. The Ula Tambar decommissioning team is in the planning phase for performing permanent plug & abandonment, removal and disposal, in a safely manner. DNO ASA #ula #northsea #oneteam

The Aker companies stand together in the fight against cancer! At all our locations, employees have participated in bead workshops and made Fuck Cancer bracelets to raise funds for a youth room at the Radiumhospital in Oslo🎗️ The goal is to raise 1 million kroner so that the youth room, also known as the Fuck Cancer room, can be ready in 2025. We are now selling the bracelets in an online store. The bracelets cost 150 NOK each. We have a limited number of bracelets beaded by the Norwegian nordic combined national team. These bracelets are sold only in the online store and cost a bit more. All proceeds go to the youth room. Join us in making a difference – every bead counts! https://lnkd.in/g2dAJ2YN

Today we mark the production start date for the Valhall field, which has been producing since 1982. Valhall has now produced more than one billion boe, being three times more than the original estimates. The ambition is to produce an additional one billion barrels over the next 40 years. The PWP-Fenris project will further develop the Valhall field and contribute to life extension well beyond 2030. Pandion Energy AS #oneteam #pwpfenris #valhall #northsea

Collaboration in Action! At the SLB Digital Forum 2024 (Digital in action), Julie Jansen Birkeland presented an exciting collaboration between Aker BP and SLB, exploring the potential of a performance-based cooperation model. This partnership led to a detailed analysis of one of Aker BP's offshore installation's produced water treatment plants, resulting in a digital solution that boosts equipment availability and reduces oil dispersed in discharged produced water. By sharing operational data, we developed a digital solution, setting the stage for high performance through close cooperation. The performance-based model could redefine how we operate, and we’re working systematically with key partners to integrate it into Yggdrasil’s Operating Strategy.   #rebelsinaction #slbforum2024 #Innovation #Sustainability #Yggdrasil #AkerBP #digitalinaction

New modelling workflow for long horizontal wells Kåre Langaas and external co-authors presented a poster at the SLB forum 2024 last week, showcasing our new modelling workflow for long horizontal wells with inflow control technology. The case study compares both standard ICD and a new AICV, based on Aker BP-funded hardware testing in Porsgrunn. This new modelling workflow is essential for evaluating new infill wells, like the ones we drill on Yggdrasil. It is crucial for understanding value and risks, while helping us create better, more sustainable wells by reducing water production. This is a significant step towards more efficient and responsible operations at Aker BP. The full paper will be published in November🌟   #Innovation #Sustainability #Yggdrasil #AkerBP #digitalinaction #rebelsinaction

Aker BP had a strong presence at the SLB Forum 2024. Paula Doyle, our Chief Digital Officer, joined Trygve Randen, SLB’s SVP Digital Products & Solutions, in a conversation about driving digital transformation. Paula emphasized the importance of collaboration and the need for shared industry standards. To unlock the full potential of digitalization and the benefits of generative AI, the industry must work together, embracing open-source solutions and unified standards. Together, we are driving change and leading the way toward a more efficient, data-driven future. 🚀 #DigitalTransformation #AkerBP #SLBForum2024 #Collaboration #Innovation #GenerativeAI #EnergyInnovation #TalentDevelopment #FutureWorkforce
