What if we started to think creatively out of the box again as Nurses and Nurse Leaders? I've been excited about the recent changes emerging in media around this topic to address the decline in nurses satisfaction and retention. I remember early in my nursing career the flexibility I had depending on my circumstances to work creatively. I'm very excited to see it coming back! #nursesonlinkedin #nurses #lifecyclebalance #nursecoaches #nursingleadership https://lnkd.in/gNuF_-yd

Creativity is a nursing craft. I love that they are willing to go out on a limb and try something like this. Sometimes one idea changes everything. This reflects a feeling of love and care from the organization and that is what opens us up. It takes time but it is possible. As for mentoring and preceptorship, that will come. Here's an idea. How about older nurses who don't want or can't maintain the pace, coming in at key times to help those new nurses? They have a lot to offer in their knowledge and skills.

In the current environment, with burnout and turnover at all-time highs, this predictable flexibility is a must. Hope this article inspires more hospitals to follow suit!

Flexible schedules, flexible attitudes, flexible mindset. Nurses have so much to offer but have been railroaded into a rigid Healthcare system.
