These barriers can include discrimination, lack of understanding from healthcare providers, and a shortage of LGBTQ+ affirming resources. ❗️ We must work together to change this! By advocating for LGBTQ+ affirming healthcare services, we can ensure that all seniors receive the respectful and inclusive care they deserve. 🔍 Here's what you can do to help: 1️⃣ Educate Yourself: Take the time to learn about the unique healthcare needs and challenges faced by LGBTQ+ seniors. 2️⃣ Advocate for Change: Support policies and initiatives that promote LGBTQ+ inclusivity in healthcare settings. 3️⃣ Spread Awareness: Share resources and information within your network to raise awareness about LGBTQ+ healthcare disparities among seniors. 4️⃣ Support LGBTQ+ Organizations: Consider donating your time or resources to organizations that provide healthcare services specifically tailored to LGBTQ+ seniors. ✨ Together, we can create a healthcare system that is truly inclusive and supportive of all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Friday 17th May marks an important day for the LGBTQIA+ community 🏳️🌈 It’s International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Transphobia and Intersex Discrimination (#IDAHOBIT2024). While we’ve made incredible progress, there is still more work to do. Let's take a moment to acknowledge the reality facing LGBTQ+ communities. Half of LGBTQ+ people have experienced depression, and three in five have experienced anxiety in the past year. One in eight LGBTQ+ young adults (18-24) have attempted to take their own lives. Nearly half of our transgender community has considered suicide (compared to 5% in the general population). These numbers are deeply concerning, especially when we consider that’s not where the statistics end. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, it's important for me to stand with my fellow members for #IDAHOBIT2024. These aren't just statistics, they're real people facing real issues. So, what can we do? We can all be allies. We can all educate ourselves, challenge assumptions, and actively support LGBTQ+ mental well-being. It starts with understanding and meaningful action in our workplaces and communities. Here are some ways to get involved: - Share resources for LGBTQ+ mental health support; - Promote inclusivity in your workplace and social circles; - Advocate for policies that protect LGBTQ+ rights and safety; - Educate yourself and others about the unique challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community; - Every step counts towards creating a world where everyone thrives, not just survives. Let's take action and move forward towards a more inclusive and accepting world. Together, we are more empowered! #IDAHOBIT2024

Here’s the truth about my niche. It’s the result of a series of micro pivots throughout the course of my business. After working with around 50 clients, I noticed the majority of people coming to me for help were individuals looking to escape the corporate system - like I once did. Underrepresented communities including: ↳ Women, especially working Mothers ↳ People of Color ↳ LGBTQ ↳ Neurodiverse ↳ Disabled Cookie cutter, corporate America is no longer working for them. They want to create the inclusive opportunities they need for themselves by going into business for themselves. I pivoted my niche and haven’t looked back ever since. 🏳️🌈 As we honor #PrideMonth this June, it's crucial to reflect on the progress we've made and the work that still lies ahead in ensuring healthcare equity for the #LGBTQ+ community. The latest survey by the National Coalition on LGBTQ Health sheds light on the current state of LGBTQ+ health and underscores the importance of accessible and inclusive healthcare for all. The survey reveals critical insights into the health disparities faced by LGBTQ+ individuals, including barriers to care, discrimination, and mental health challenges. These findings highlight the urgent need for healthcare systems to prioritize inclusivity and actively work to eliminate these disparities. As professionals, advocates, and allies, we have a responsibility to champion policies and practices that promote health equity. It's PRIDE Month 🌈 , and we think it’s an important time to shed light on the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ adults when it comes to healthcare. According to a KFF report from earlier this year, one-third (33%) of LGBTQ+ adults have experienced unfair or disrespectful treatment or have had at least one negative experience with a healthcare provider. Among those who reported negative healthcare experiences in the past three years, nearly one-quarter (24%) said these experiences worsened their health. 👎 Creating inclusive and accepting healthcare environments is crucial. 🤝 We are excited about the work being done by OutCare in this area. OutCare has developed 'The OutList,' a comprehensive database of LGBTQ+ affirming healthcare providers. Additionally, they provide community resources, health equity CEU training, patient experience design, and more. By supporting initiatives like those from OutCare, we can help ensure that everyone receives respectful and competent healthcare, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. 💗 #inclusivity #patientexperience #pridemonth
