Only 1 in 3 companies offer comprehensive support for parents and caregivers. This isn’t just a missed opportunity - it’s a business mistake. In today’s fast-paced world, the lines between work and personal life often blur. For parents and caregivers, this balance is even more delicate. They juggle multiple roles, often sacrificing their own needs for those they care for. Yet parents and caregivers are some of the most dedicated, resilient, and resourceful individuals you’ll ever meet: they’re problem solvers, multitaskers, negotiators… driving innovation for growth. Support can take many forms - flexible working hours, remote work options, or providing resources. These measures don’t just benefit the employees; they create a more inclusive, diverse, and productive work environment. In honor of Global Parents Day (which was June 1st), I'm proud to join the Contentsquare panel organised on Wednesday, June 5, focused on fostering a family-friendly workplace culture, together with Erica Finkelstein, Sarah Deel, Melanie Oberman and Eric Mistry, other Contentsquare parents who are navigating the balance of career and family life. We'll discuss personal experiences and insights, best practices for normalizing being a working parent and how everyone can contribute to an inclusive workplace for parents and caregivers. Let’s change the narrative. Let’s make supporting parents and caregivers the norm, not the exception. Because when we support them, we’re not just building better workplaces. We’re building a better world. Thanks to Elissa Goldenberg, without whom none of this would be possible! #Parents #Caregivers #Support #Business #Inclusion #Diversity #Productivity

Speaker | Author | BBC1 documentary presenter | Equal parenting, redefining masculinity & male allyship | Founder, MusicFootballFatherhood | Created #ParentingOutLoud for working dads
I love that dads are seeing the Parenting Out Loud campaign on their travels, taking pictures and sharing their stories. Here’s Tom Spencer at peak rush hour getting a selfie at Euston! 📸 Tom said: “We equal parent in our house, which has been helped by me going freelance. It means we can share drop off and picks and taking our daughter to her clubs, like her swimming class which is after school today. With my clients I always explain that there are days I need to finish early and I've said no to some work recently that would have meant too much time away. It still feels like this isn't the mainstream way of doing things and I'm nervous about how getting a 'proper' job would impact how we share parenting in our house. This is about the impact on my partner but also about my own wellbeing and the relationship I have with our daughter.” This is a common story. So many working parents leave traditional employment for flexibility it brings. We need to make sure employers are aware of this talent drain. Employers that create inclusive environments for parents will retain their talented staff. More and more working dads are making decisions not just based on salary, but more so on flexibility. The Parenting Out Loud culture change programme supports employers to build workplace cultures where working dads can be loud, proud and transparent about their childcare responsibilities at work. For more information on the culture change programme and how employers can get involved: www.parentingoutloud.com. And join us for the online launch event, hosted by CBRE UK on Tuesday 30th April: https://bit.ly/3w3xPcy #ParentingOutLoud #WorkingDads #EqualParenting #GenderEquality

To succeed, almost every employee needs work/life support at some point. Women and people of color need it the most, research shows, because they face greater challenges and have fewer resources available to them. They are also the least likely to receive it, however, and as a result often are forced to change or leave jobs and lose out on opportunities for advancement. Given that situation, the authors decided to examine what effects various corporate work/life programs had on the management workforce. Analyzing data from more than 800 U.S. companies over 30 years, they found that when companies offered flexible work schedules, family leave, and childcare support to all employees, the percentage of women and people of color in management rose significantly. In fact, those work/life benefits had a larger impact than the most popular racial-equity programs did. Companies have long known that programs promoting work/life balance boost productivity, reduce turnover, and improve employees’ mental and physical health. And now it’s clear that they are also a powerful way to increase organizational diversity.

What a great few days! We’re so pleased that our 👩👩👧 research with 2,000 working parents with children under 18 👪 has been covered by People Management magazine, HR magazine, Employee Benefits and others. With a raft of 👪 family-friendly 👨👩👧👧 legislation coming into play in April this year, there’s never been a more important time to understand this demographic: how do they feel about work? How much support are they getting from their employer? How successfully are they managing home and work responsibilities? What additional support would make their lives easier? 📢 Our findings show that a large number of working parents aren’t getting the support they need. They feel stressed and burnt out and as a result, many of them are leaving the workforce, resulting in a shrinking pool of talent. 📢 With retention a key focus for many employers this year, it makes sense to explore how you can support the parents and caregivers in your workforce. ➡ If you’d like to find out more, you can download our report - Empowering Parents and Caregivers at Work: A Blueprint for Employers (link in the comments) – which you can use to help you make the most of the support you already offer and provide ideas on possible new initiatives to introduce. #workingparents #familyfriendly #employeebenefits #retention #employeeengagement
