Hello Linkedin friends! So, I’ve talked before about one of our cool team traditions—the time capsule. Last year, we recorded one for 2024, laying out all the big stuff we expected to tackle this year, including key milestones. It was kind of intense to put down thoughts that would be locked away, unchanged, until the whole team revisits them a year later. We poured everything—honest thoughts and big challenges we expected to face—into that capsule. For us, it’s more than just a time capsule; it’s a challenge. We have to solve problems, pass tests, and when we review it all with the team at year’s end, we get to celebrate every win! Now that we’re halfway through the year, looking back really hits home how fast time zips by. It shows how important it is to nail down those priorities and really focus when you're planning—those anchor points. It can be tough to see if we’re making real progress if our goals are too broad or if we don’t break them down into smaller, manageable steps. We tend to forget that big achievements are just a bunch of small wins piled up. Setting clear goals and stages (kind of like a to-do list) and ticking each off as you go—and tweaking things along the way if needed—is crucial. The first half of the year was packed—ups, downs, sleepless nights, and some hefty challenges. Let me tell you why I think this generation is a game-changer, especially when things get tough. Just last week, we had a major challenge at Binge Labs. We needed to shoot 12 ads for an audio platform brand, and we had just one day to pull it off. I had two choices: 1. Bring in the experienced crew, who I knew wouldn’t touch a high-risk, quick turnaround project like this. 2. Or, trust a crew of eager, fearless Gen Zs ready to dive in. I chose the Gen Z crew, and they absolutely delivered—12 ads in one day, all done near to perfect! It was chaotic, fast-paced, and exactly the kind of environment where Gen Z thrives. They brought energy, creativity, and a can-do attitude that turned an impossible deadline into a possible one! Why We Love Gen Z at Binge Labs: - About 80% of our team is Gen Z. They're the main reason we keep coming up with fresh, new ideas. They’re quick, they’re not scared of failing, and they keep all of us thinking of better, more creative solutions. As of the beginning of August, I'll be stepping down from my role at Introist. Over the past three years, I've given my all to this company, experiencing both highs and lows. I'm incredibly proud that my co-founders, Klaus and Jarno, will be taking the reins and continuing to drive Introist forward. This decision comes from a need to rethink how we approach the future of Introist. Being a venture-backed company in 2023-2024 has been incredibly challenging. We set some really high expectations for our business, our team, and ourselves. By the end of last year, my co-founders and I realized that these expectations were just too high. So, we decided to take a new path, focusing on building a profitable company and growing Introist organically rather than chasing hyper-growth with venture funding. Even though we have a healthy runway, our main goal now is to steer Introist towards break-even. This change means we'll be downsizing our team. Going forward, we'll be a smaller group focused on creating the most value for our customers and driving sustainable growth. This wasn't an easy decision, and I take full responsibility for where we are today. But I believe it's the right move to ensure long-term success for everyone involved. Building a company is never a straight line, and dealing with tough moments like these is what we signed up for. For our customers, nothing will change. The product will stay available as always, and the newly streamlined company will continue to make Introist an essential part of any ambitious company’s HR stack.
