Loved this snippet and this episode with Evan Crawford and Karen Stephens! I've said it before and I'll say it again, VALUE for VALUE. It doesn't mean the valued data is the "blood type of the first-born" or the valued reward is an 85% discount. But more importantly, hoteliers need to create a CONSTANT give and get relationship with their guests in order to create a robust, comprehensive and mutually beneficial first-party data strategy. Karen, I'm going to quantify your hunch! The average American household is enrolled in at least 21 different points programs. This is what we call "Loyalty Inflation." The more points circulating around consumers, the less valuable those points become. So what's the best alternative? Experiences and instant benefits. Nearly 80% of consumers prefer these types of rewards over points! Let's also call out the fact that the more often guests redeem rewards from your brand, you guessed it, the more they're engaging with your loyalty program and the deeper their loyalty becomes. Be different, reward your guests every time they transact with you, instantly reward their every day, offer value back to them for the value they give you, and PLEASE, don't contribute anymore to loyalty inflation. #loyalty #firstpartydata #experiencesoverpoints
