2024 Elections: Business Continuity cares when you personally don’t. #BusinessContinuity is designed to ferret out the issues you are not thinking about in your business. Systems, processes, physical structures, assets – you name it, a business continuity professional is thinking about how to make sure all of the things your business values most are #protected. The really good BC professionals also look beyond what is “normal” to look at. 2024 is going to be a year with an insane number of important #elections across the globe. Russia, India, Taiwan, Mexico – aside from our own – just to name a few. 🗳 Why does this matter? Change in governments can lead to a change in policy, especially on trade. Which is #supplychain. Which are increased costs of goods. 📈 We can expect some rioting and protesting in the US for our presidential election. A Supreme Court decision regarding Article 3 of the 14th Amendment (arguments to be heard early Feb, result expected by March) will make for an interesting Spring. If Trump is allowed to stay on the ballot, there will be protests but it will be worse in November. 🔥 Yes, yes, but what does this have to do with my #business? If your business is located next door to a place where people are likely going to be protesting and rioting, like the headquarters of a national newspaper, imagine the difficulty of getting to work. Or the customers who are dissuaded from coming because of the public spectacle on the premises. ⛔ That’s why it is nice to have already thought about these things and plan for them in advance. This is why you need a trained professional (who also is an uber nerd about this) to sweat the big and small stuff you can’t even imagine because it *seems* too remote for you if you are even tracking it at all.
