Now, if the rest of you would kindly stop trying to use Chinese headsets in the defense vertical, especially the ones which require a login and telemetry to corporate headquarters to function... MACE now has a webserver function: you can easily make web apps which serve info to devices like the Blade. Lot of low hanging fruit wins like range safety officer live telemetry of aircraft. A web dev can knock this out quickly.

Congress, please bring back DVP. The importance of the Defense Ventures Program (DVP) cannot be overstated. To modernize our defense industry, we need #radicalcollaboration between innovators, investors and government; for which DVP has been a critical enabler. As Congress deliberates the FY25 NDAA, it's critical we reinstate this vital initiative.  Building access, trust and relationships across the tech economy and the DoD is existential.  DVP integrated military leaders into the heart of America's tech ecosystem and bridged the gap between these disparate worlds of innovation and military requirements.  The growing awareness around modernizing defense tech, from builders, investors and government alike is amazing.  But it's programs like DVP that ensure the success of those efforts and further the Mission. I've seen this firsthand through the DVP Fellows who have worked with us or joined our own team, helping advise companies on how to access, build, and sell into DoD and ultimately, align and drive private sector innovation into the government.  To our representatives in Congress: Reinstating DVP isn't just a budget decision, it's a strategic necessity.  #globalresilience Mike Slagh Matthew B.

Have you heard of the T2-Transition Pathway? The spinout from DoD to labs to industry is an effective, but often overlooked, avenue for delivering innovative technologies to the warfighter. Col. Brett Cusker, USAF (Ret.), Austin Leach and Will Swearingen explain the benefits of Technology Transfer in their Defense Acquisition magazine article, “The Technology Transfer Pathway From DoD Labs to Industry.” The T2-Transition Pathway supports the defense mission in several important ways, the authors emphasize. It provides an essential link between DoD labs and the U.S. warfighter, engages nontraditional contractors and offers a cost-effective way to deliver new technology to warfighters. Cusker, Leach and Swearingen also highlight examples of technologies that have been successfully transitioned from DoD to industry, including TCP anti-corrosion coatings, the BATDOK patient monitoring system and BUILDER facility maintenance software. Quite the split screen today with two potential futures for getting the best tech into the United States Department of Defense: Option 1: Throw more taxpayer money at companies like Boeing with a track record of delays, poor performance, and a history of overcharging the US government. Option 2: Leverage the billions of dollars in venture capital to back the best tech, seeding new, innovative, and agile companies focused on the next generation of warfare Our military needs both the Boeing's and the Anduril Industries' of the world to succeed, but by introducing competition to the military industrial complex, the USG can foster a robust, dynamic industrial base to serve our military's needs.
