Is my swimming pool safe for my dog? This is a question we’ve been asked plenty of times before, so is a pool safe for dogs? Supervised pool dips are entirely safe for your dog, especially if it's a breed that is naturally skilled in swimming. Just like with children, ensure there's a secure exit for them. An added benefit is that you won't have to wash your pet's fur to remove pool chemicals afterward. However, it's important to note that larger dogs and frequent pool use may introduce more bacteria, which will require extra time to filter out. For more info on pools you can call us on 01277 222066 or go to www.poolman.co.uk #PoolProblems #dogs #swimmingdogs #poolmanleisuregroup

How do fish swimming upstream in the spring get through a lock? By ringing the doorbell, of course! This may sound like a kids' riddle, but it was actually a real-life problem for the small Dutch town of Utrecht. Each spring, fish swim upstream to spawn and need to pass through the Weerdsluis lock. The problem was that the lock was rarely ever open in the spring, and fish that were stuck waiting for it to open were a prime target for predators. The solution? An underwater camera and a live stream (literally - haha) video. You can watch the live stream online, and if you see a fish, you can press the doorbell button to alert the lock operator to open the lock and let the fish through. Genius! Had I been in their shoes, I don't know that I ever would've thought of a fish doorbell. And I love that the solution not only solved the problem, but it also built community - people from around the world have watched the live stream for a chance to ring the bell and help the fish. What's the "fish stuck at the lock" problem that you're facing? How could you look at it from a different angle - or even involve others - to get to a creative solution? PS - I'll leave a link to the fish doorbell in the comments #marketingoperations #marketing #problemsolving #designthinking

Last year, Wally the Alligator was swimming in my pool and taking pictures with people rubbing his tummy. Today, I have five fish in the chlorinated pool. So they are like super mutant fish. Tomorrow, my Board member's kids are going to go fishing - in my pool. You cannot possibly make up these stories. #penco #pencomanagement #wally #alligator #fish #pool #poolseason #propertymanagement #community #communitymanagement

In the world of commercial swimming pools, pool clarity is a reflection of success. But what lies beneath can sometimes cloud your day, your pool and your members’! Case in point: our latest adventure in filter sand gone rogue, clogging the main drain pot and turning maintenance into a detective mission. Don't let your pool's performance get dragged down by unexpected visitors. Stay vigilant, stay prepared, and remember – sometimes, the smallest grains make the biggest waves in commercial pool care. #PoolProblems #MaintenanceMysteries #ClearWatersAhead

A case study published in the new issue of Journal of Zoo Aquarium Research investigated infection-related abnormal swimming in an aquarium-housed yellow stingray: 🌊An inner ear infection was thought to be causing the abnormal swimming behaviour. 🌊A meclizine treatment resulted in reduction of abnormal swimming, and increased normal swimming and resting. 🌊Further reduction in abnormal behaviours after the stingray returned to its more complex home habitat, from the isolated treatment tank. --- Read paper (open access): https://lnkd.in/eJ_6fDzq --- #ZooResearch #stingrays #AnimalHealth #animalwelfare
