A case study published in the new issue of Journal of Zoo Aquarium Research investigated infection-related abnormal swimming in an aquarium-housed yellow stingray: 🌊An inner ear infection was thought to be causing the abnormal swimming behaviour. 🌊A meclizine treatment resulted in reduction of abnormal swimming, and increased normal swimming and resting. 🌊Further reduction in abnormal behaviours after the stingray returned to its more complex home habitat, from the isolated treatment tank. --- Read paper (open access): https://lnkd.in/eJ_6fDzq --- #ZooResearch #stingrays #AnimalHealth #animalwelfare
