🌐🇯🇵 Marketing in Japan? Here is what you need to know about the current Search Engine market share in the country! As you may know, Google has been the dominant internet service provider in Japan, with Yahoo! Japan and Bing for years coming in second and third place. However, as of May 2024, Bing has overtaken Yahoo! Japan's second position, with the market-share data from Statcounter showing the following numbers for June 2024: No. 1: Google: 74.9% No. 2: Bing: 14.6% No. 3: Yahoo! Japan: 9.2% Notably, Bing's market share saw a huge 75.7% jump from April to June! 🤯 How did this happen? 💡 Since around 2023, Bing's user base has grown significantly thanks to Bing AI (Copilot), which Microsoft launched around the same time as OpenAI's ChatGPT. 💡 According to Statcounter, Windows holds about 70% of the computing market in Japan, and many Japanese companies still rely on Windows for their work devices. In some cases, company rules and security protocols set Microsoft Edge as the only acceptable browser, with many also choosing to block all other search engines in favor of Bing. All of this contributes to Bing's nearly 30% share of desktop search engine users (although Google still tops this metric as well). What does this mean for you? 🧐✏️ If you’re doing B2B marketing in Japan, it’s time to consider running ads on Bing to take advantage of its growing user base. According to Medix K.K., Bing ads are reported to have lower cost-per-click (CPC) and cost-per-acquisition (CPA). They also often reach an older age range of 35 to 64, compared to Google's younger demographic of 25 to 40, which means Bing's users likely include more decision-makers within companies. So, if you're not doing it already, there's no better time to start advertising on Bing❗️If you want to make the leap, Humble Bunny can help 😊 Learn more about our PPC services from the link below: 👉 https://lnkd.in/g7PDNREb #humblebunny #searchenginemarketshare #Japanmarket #b2bmarketing #yahoojapan #bing #digitalmarketingagency #marketingtrends

Google won’t index sites that do not work on mobile devices after July 5 😊 If your site’s content is not accessible at all with a mobile device, it will no longer be indexable. This is a long time coming. Google has finally drawn a line in the sand for sites that simply do not render on mobile. This doesn’t mean Google won’t index your site if it isn’t mobile-friendly. What Google is saying is that if your site simply does not render or load on mobile devices, then Google won’t index it. #seo #digitalmarketing #ai #google #business #ecommerence

🚌 Changes to Google Ads are like buses... none, for ages, and then a load come at once... but this latest one feels pretty special (like the Magic School Bus 😂) Despite one of the potentially biggest changes in tracking going on, with the full implementation of Consent Mode being required by March (if you don't you'll lose key features of your Google Ads account), Google are still throwing us a few cheeky curveballs. In the past couple of weeks alone; 🔎 The search terms insights tab has been moved around. 🗣 Conversational AI has been rolled out to help you write ad copy. 📲 The appearance of the new campaigns page has changed (and continued to change). And now, Google have released... 💡 Solutions - new ways to build workflows in your account. Solutions allows you to create new automations in your account without having to write any code. This means that you can run changes like adjusting budgets or generating reports that previously you'd have to write scripts for. I know a lot of people are now using Chat GPT to write their scripts for them, but this (much like the Gemini release for ad copy writing), seems to be a move from Google to keep you in platform. I, for one, am super excited to start playing around with these new features, and see what we're able to achieve! No one can ever say that working in Google Ads is boring!! #ppc #ppcchat #google #googleads #paidsearch #sem

🔍 Publishers Welcome a New Alternative to Google with SearchGPT 🔍 The publishing world is buzzing with the introduction of SearchGPT, an AI-powered search engine that promises to be a game-changer in the digital landscape. With major publishers like Condé Nast already on board, there's growing anticipation for a platform that could offer a viable alternative to Google's dominance. For years, publishers have felt the effects of Google's initiatives—whether it was the push to adopt AMP or the broader impact of Google's DoubleClick acquisition, which, coupled with Google's dominance in the ad tech ecosystem, has raised concerns about reducing publishers' ad revenues. Despite these developments, Google continues to command a staggering 90.8% of the global search market share, a testament to its entrenched position in our digital lives. But with innovation like SearchGPT on the horizon, could we be seeing the first cracks in Google's armor? SearchGPT, though still in beta, is likely giving Sundar Pichai some sleepless nights. #DigitalMarketing #Publishing #AI #SearchEngines #Innovation #Google #SearchGPT https://lnkd.in/eBbj_bNW Data below supplied by Similarweb showing Google's global dominance versus other platforms over a 6-month period for direct traffic.

What is Google Automatic Bidding and How Does it Work? Google Automatic Bidding is a smart feature where Google takes charge to get the best results for your ads. 🌟 For Google Automatic Bidding to work well, you need to provide some previous data to Google. 📊 When launching new ads for a business or product, Google Ads might not give the best results immediately. After running ads for a while, the Google account collects data about that business or product. 📈 Using this data, Google employs its AI to bring good results. 🤖 So, the more days the account has been active and the more dollars spent, the better the results will be. 💵 When using automatic bidding, adjusting our bidding strategy based on the ongoing results while the ads are running is often necessary. 🔄 #googleads #automaticbidding #smartbidding #digitalmarketing
