There are a few questions that make a world of difference when deciding on a data job: 1. What is the salary range? - Not every job shows this in the description. Ask it and find out in round 1 so you don’t waste your time 2. What percentage covered with the health benefits? - This can make a huge difference in your take home pay 3. What’s the PTO policy? - Make sure it aligns with what you want 4. Bonus and 401k - These are great to know so you have a full picture of your benefits These go for really any job BONUS: For data specific roles I ask: 1. How big is the data team? 2. Can you confirm the tech stack? 3. Why are you hiring for this role? 4. What challenges does the team have right now? These are just some questions that are important to me What else would you add? The landscape has shifted, and I believe companies are now hiring employees based on existing skills rather than providing training. For instance, if someone is proficient but not an expert in data analytics or other tools, senior staff may not offer adequate guidance, fearing that enhanced skills could lead to employees leaving. This approach, I think, is not beneficial for both parties and might contribute to a high attrition rate. #employeeexperience #employeedevelopment #employabilityskills
