Did the first 6 months go according to plan? No. Did I reach my Excel forecasts? No. Did I expect things to go according to plan? No. Did the offering change? Yes. Do we have happy customers? Yes. Is the solution getting better all the time? Yes. Is our service delivery improving? Yes. Are we hiring A-team players? Yes. Does the next 6 months look positive? Yes. Will the next 6 months go exactly to plan? No 😊 Resilience is so important in business, especially in the early stages. It’s never easy starting your own business, but it’s incredibly rewarding. If you're on this journey too, I'd love to connect—let's share experiences and help each other grow.

The most powerful platform to manage teams, clients, and projects | Head of Technical Support at TaxDome
As a leader, there are two types of positive feedback from my team that warm my heart. One is, "I wanna be like you when I grow up" (oh, sweet Gen Z, you're so kind), and the other is, "I've never worked in a team like this before" from our new hires (last quarter we successfully onboarded four people). Our team thrives in a friendly and supportive atmosphere, where there's no internal competition but a collective drive towards a common goal. We have a deep connection and respect for each other's efforts. I truly believe that a positive team atmosphere significantly boosts productivity and job satisfaction. Happy people work better. As a team lead, I've learned a lot about maintaining this team vibe. Here are some basic principles I follow: - Love your people - Trust them - Listen to them - Support and protect them - Help them grow That's my recipe for a succeeding team. Do you have similar experiences or different thoughts? P.S. We're hiring!

It's time to shift focus..!! Instead of just hiring the "smartest" candidate, hire someone who brings more to the table: 1/ Attitude: A positive and proactive mindset. 2/ Willingness to Learn: A drive for continuous growth. 3/ Flexibility: Adaptability to change and new situations. 4/ Problem-Solving Skills: Easily overcomes challenges. 5/ Team Spirit: A collaborative and supportive approach. 6/ Feedback Skills: Great at giving and receiving feedback. 7/ No Drama: A calm, gossip-free and conflict-free behavior. 8/ Empathy and Kindness: Genuine care and support for others. 9/ Passion for Their Profession: Deep enthusiasm and commitment. 10/ Ability to Truly Listen: Genuine engagement in understanding others. Success is a team effort..!! So make sure you're hiring team players, not just the "smartest" lone wolves..!!

I get that you want to hire people that can "hit the ground running". However, insisting candidates have 10 years experience doing exactly the same thing, with the exact same tech/ products, at a "direct competitor" will stifle innovation and creativity. Hiring someone of high aptitude who's excited and motivated (and meets 50% of the criteria) will lead to different questions, alternate ideas and a fresh perspective. Hiring someone who's been doing the same thing for 10 years and meets 100% of the criteria (but is bored) will lead to repetition, stagnation and demotivation. Great people want to be challenged and to learn. Great management want to develop people, push boundaries and constantly challenge the status quo. Or you could just be one of those people who's "always done it this way" Up to you.

Hiring A-players isn’t about resumes—it’s about mindset. Look for problem solvers, not just skill sets. A-players aren’t just talented— ➝ they’re driven ➝ adaptable ➝ and elevate everyone around them. Hire for potential, not just experience.
