We are in dire need for evidence based anticipatory guidance for endometriosis warriors. I’m learning as I go … Unfortunately, some of us become example cases of what not to do … ☹️ Know your endometriosis associated risks and comorbidities … There are 60 comorbidities and counting. Multiple hundred fold cancer risks the more advance the stage of endometriosis. Don’t say the word “benign”. I started this thought now everyone in the endo community is repeating it. It’s validation they feel the same! 🥰 Don’t tell us we are lucky not to have cancer when our scares never end; we have the same workups; take some of the same potent hormone blockers; undergo numerous major surgeries and have the same level of pain. Only for some of us, ours never ends - It starts at prepuberty and goes til you die. Many of us can’t take medication for pain. Only Tylenol 325 mg even for surgery. We are at risk for: Bowel obstruction, tears and strangulations Organ failures including kidney failure Stroke Rupture of ovarian cysts Appendicitis and rupture Inflammatory bowel disease Pneumothorax Pregnancy and childbirth emergencies Infertility Severe immunity issues and allergies Cancer, cancer, cancer We are grateful but our problems are just different than other conditions. Comparative suffering is overall unhealthy but many people make comparisons for us anyways. #endometriosisandprimaryhyperparathyroidismawareness

🌸 Understanding Breast Cancer: Awareness, Signs, Symptoms, and Prevention 🌸 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to educate ourselves and others about this significant health issue. What is Breast Cancer? Breast cancer occurs when cells in the breast begin to grow uncontrollably. It can affect both female as well as male, but it's most common in women. Early detection plays a crucial role in improving outcomes. 🎀Signs and Symptoms to watch for: Lump or Mass: A noticeable lump or change in the breast or underarm area. Changes in Size/Shape: Alterations in breast size or shape can be a warning sign. Skin Changes: Dimpling, puckering, or unusual texture on the breast skin. Nipple Changes: Discharge, inversion, or skin changes around the nipple. Swelling or Pain: Any swelling in the breast or discomfort should be evaluated. Prevention Strategies: Regular Screenings: Schedule annual mammograms and breast exams. Self-Exams: Familiarize yourself with your breasts and report any changes. Healthy Lifestyle: Maintain a balanced diet, exercise regularly, and limit alcohol. Know Your Risk: Discuss family history and genetic testing with your healthcare provider. Stay Informed: Knowledge is power—educate yourself about breast health. 🌟 Supporting Post-Mastectomy Rehabilitation 🌟 As we continue to raise awareness around breast cancer, it's vital to highlight the importance of post-mastectomy physiotherapy. This specialized rehab not only aids recovery but also empowers individuals to regain strength and confidence. 💪 Benefits of Physiotherapy After Mastectomy: Pain Management: Techniques to alleviate discomfort and improve mobility. Restoring Range of Motion: Gentle exercises tailored to rebuild shoulder and arm movement. Strengthening Muscles: Focused strength training to enhance overall physical stability. Psychosocial Support: Encouraging mental well-being through community and support networks. By fostering a comprehensive rehabilitation program, we can help survivors transition to a healthier, more active lifestyle. Let's continue to advocate for holistic care that addresses both physical and emotional needs. Let’s support one another in spreading awareness, encouraging early detection, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against breast cancer! 💖🎗 🌈 Together, we can make a difference! #BreastCancerAwareness #HealthAndWellness #EarlyDetection #HealthEducation #Prevention #SupportAndSurvive#PostMastectomyCare #Physiotherapy #Rehabilitation

Five things you need to know about #UterineCancer: - Fact One Uterine cancer (also called #EndometrialCancer) is the most common of the #GynaecologicCancers. - Fact Two Nearly all uterine cancers start in the lining of the uterus, the #endometrium. #Cancers that originate from the endometrial lining are called #carcinomas. Cancers can also start in the muscle layer or the connective tissue (stroma) of the uterus, and these are called #UterineSarcomas. #UterineCarcinomas and Uterine #Sarcomas are treated slightly differently, and their prognosis differs. - Fact Three The primary symptom of uterine cancer is bleeding or spotting after #menopause, or around the time of menopause. Any #VaginalBleeding after menopause is abnormal and should prompt a visit to a doctor for further evaluation. - Fact Four The risk of developing uterine cancer increases for certain women. These factors are known to increase one’s risk of developing the disease: • Use of #tamoxifen, a medication used for #BreastCancer treatment or prevention. • #EstrogenHormonalTherapy, primarily when used alone (without #progesterone). • Having more #MenstrualCycles. For example, women who start their periods early (before 12) and go through menopause later in life may be at increased risk. • #Obesity. • #PolycysticOvarianSyndrome (#PCOS). • Having #diabetes. • Having a family history of endometrial cancers. • #EndometrialHyperplasia. - Fact Five The primary treatment for most uterine cancers is surgery. For some women with uterine cancer, #RadiationTherapy will be recommended as adjuvant treatment following surgery. For some women, #chemotherapy may be recommended, and sometimes, both radiation and chemotherapy are used after surgery. #HormonalTreatments are also sometimes used to treat certain low-grade (or slow-growing) forms of uterine cancer.
