Honored to have been invited to the Leading Minds Forum in Ostrava last week! A conference with the objective to discuss essential questions regarding European and local energy transformation. I was in the panel focused on community energy, side by side with Petr Kusý and Dries Acke. As E.ON participates in energy-sharing projects across Europe, we have some valuable insight and perspectives from various countries. This gave me the background to share some of our takeaways from what we observe in energy-sharing projects: ✅ It’s obvious that the customer engagement will grow, as will the complexity of the energy environment. ✅ Energy communities are just the start! They will trigger new solutions for customers and transform basic energy providers into providers of  complex energy solutions. ✅ The development is positive but there are still obstacles to overcome, such as slow development of private investments and customer mobilization so far. Overall, these points bring challenges we all need to address. Such as how to turn community energy into an understandable product and make customers’ lives easier. How to tackle volatility and imbalances of the new models. Or how to approach customers who don’t get benefits from energy sharing and yet are impacted by the potentially increasing costs. Today, Ivan-Petar Yovchev, Officer for Regions & Skills held a keynote speech at the European Regions for Hydrogen Society event, organised by #H2Europe's Regional Pillar Member MédioTejo21/IrRADIARE.   The event was aimed at promoting #interregionalcoordination, focusing on #maritime regions to promote the expansion of the #hydrogenmarket. Working in a crossfield between energy and digital development is super exciting, especially when your work is recognized and rewarded by others in the field. 📣 On September 26-27, 2024, the ELECTROLIFE consortium met for the 2nd General Assembly, hosted by our partner Loccioni in Ancona (Italy). The two-day event brought together all project partners for productive knowledge exchanges and updates on the project’s progress. The meeting featured presentations where ELECTROLIFE partners shared the results of the past months, discussed recent advancements, and outlined the next steps. The primary focus of the meeting was on the progress of the research into all electrolyser technologies, particularly addressing degradation mechanisms. An important part of the event was the exploitation workshop led by Enel Green Power, our Exploitation Manager, which outlined the roadmap for translating the project’s outcomes into impactful, real-world applications. In addition to the technical sessions, the attendees enjoyed a special presentation on the unique history of Loccioni and had the opportunity to visit their state-of-the-art facilities. This provided valuable insight into the pioneering work being conducted by our host, adding a layer of inspiration to the event. 𝗪𝗲𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 - 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝟮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 📌 Stay connected! On November 7th, the #H2med team will launch a Call for Interest to gather information on #hydrogen production and consumption along the Corridor. This non-binding process aims to establish the operative conditions of the Corridor, allowing project promoters #REN, Enagás, Teréga, GRTgaz, and OGE to qualify the conditions and the needs of the future users of the infrastructures across the entire hydrogen value chain. The interest in this energy vector to decarbonise and reindustrialise the Portuguese, Spanish, French and German territories is aligned with the ambition of the European Union’s Net Zero targets. This Call for Interest will identify the real needs in all the territories covered by the H2med Corridor. The results will enable the H2med team to optimise the design of the infrastructure to better meet the needs of local players and communities.
