This year’s raffle raised an impressive $321,830, with every dollar going back to local clubs to support fundraising efforts and reduce the load on volunteers. Football West praised Hyundai’s incredible support, highlighting the positive impact on WA’s football community. With $153,172 raised online and $168,658 from paper tickets, the results reflect the power of collaboration and community spirit. 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐀 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞, 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐲 𝐂𝐂𝐇 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 Let us begin by saying, this isn’t your bog-standard football story. It’s something entirely unique and special. It's the roar of the crowd, the thud of boots against the ball; six teams united not just by their love of a beautiful game but by something far greater ... Each team represents a different charity. Each proves just how far football can be a powerful force for good, raising funds in the process. CCH became the league's main sponsor last year, offering a donation straight up that got passed directly to the 6 charities. In addition, each player pays to play, ensuring every penny goes directly to the cause they’re fighting for. Let’s not also forget, our amazing local CCH branches and Extra Care Schemes in Newcastle, Sunderland, South Tyneside, Gateshead, Durham and Middlesbrough, who all joined the action, organising fundraising events, skinny dips, fun days, coffee mornings, entertainment and more, which raised a whopping £10,000 in just one season! This is what we call community at CCH!! Before CCH joined the initiative, the league had raised an impressive £16,000 on their own. Still, since CCH, that figure has soared to a whopping £42,000, showing the momentum when businesses and communities work together. And with a collective spirit that extends way beyond the pitch, these teams are growing and evolving, game by game. In total, around 125 players don’t just ‘lace up their boots’ and walk the walk; they pour kindness and compassion into every kick of the ball. One of the players, Lewis Stratford, Regional Recruitment Business Partner at CCH, shared what it means to be involved: “ …This is more than football. We’re out there for something bigger than ourselves, knowing we’re making a difference; the impact CCH had on the initiative so far has been phenomenal.” Remember, these players aren’t professionals. They’re people with busy lives, jobs, and families. Yet they show up - rain or shine - because they know they’re part of something bigger. They know that the seemingly small act of playing football can ripple into something far more extraordinary. Of course, the impact isn’t measured in money raised, although £42,000 is a staggering achievement, and we are so grateful as our CCH community to have contributed to that. But really, it’s in the smiles of the children who receive life-saving care, the comfort given to families in need, and the hope restored to those battling a myriad of health challenges. This isn’t just about football. One game at a time, these players, along with the support of CCH, are changing the game. And in doing so, they’re showing us what it means to play with heart. #WeAreCCH #charityfootball

A New Year opportunity for the right kind of charity! 2 year partnership with Premiership Rugby. You don't see these kind of opportunities come up often, and with such clearly thought out processes and documents, so one for many charities and fundraisers to actively consider. I've put some free tips and thought starters below from having approached these kinds of opportunities so many times in my career. Firstly, I would always recommend reaching out in the first instance when you see these kind of opportunities if they genuinely feel like a fit, so it's great to see this has been proactively offered by Laylla. Especially as the themes are so broad. These conversations have helped me so many times to decide whether or not it was worth pursuing an application. But what do you ask to help you get this clarity? Here's some ideas I've used successfully on scoping calls and internally: - What are your motivations for launching this new type of partnership? - What difficulties at [org/company] are you hoping this new partnership can help you overcome? - At the end of the two years, if you were sharing a story of impact from this partnership, what do you think the most powerful story would be? - Who is your main audience for this partnership? Who do you most want to see, and be influenced by it? - Is there a partnership you've worked on already, or one you've seen in the sports space, that you really admired? And why? Technical questions are trickier so think about the ones that would really help your cause to decide, but from my experience I'd look at: - Do you have any preferences for brand recognition amongst fans for your chosen charity partner? (ie do you want to make transformative change for a less heard of name, or do you want that instant recognition?) - Is it strongest to have a charity that crosses all your chosen themes, or one that laser focuses on a single theme? - Who, or what roles, are making up the decision making panel? You also need to satisfy yourself internally of a couple of points and ideally also discuss with the potential partner: 1. That the fundraising opportunities will produce a reasonable return (are there, for instance, opportunities to also be selected/invited by sponsors to their charity processes) - and what support you'd get from the partner to raise money (vs having to do everything yourself)? If you have 'ready to go' sports offerings (races, challenges) can these be promoted? 2. Gambling/alcohol - particularly as themes include children and health/wellbeing - your brand will be alongside alcohol brands that I can immediately see and a lot of high level sports involves gambling now unfortunately. How will you approach this with that in mind? Its well worth checking your ethical policies before proceeding further, or reaching out to your fundraising trustee to get their experiences. Good luck to charities going for this one! Exciting start to your 2025 🏉 💫

Over the past few months, Coles team members have been out and about in local communities to help present new equipment to Little Athletics centres across Australia. Last October, Coles announced 43 Little Athletics centres will share in $150,000 worth of sports equipment grants from the latest round of the Coles Little Athletics Community Fund. Since then, many of these centres have received their new equipment, ranging from safety equipment like first aid kits to volunteering aids such as laptops and trolleys as well as essential athletics equipment including hurdles, high jump mats, discuses and shot puts. The most recent round of grants was made possible from money raised through Coles’ annual Little Athletics Banana A-Peel which raises funds for grassroots Little Athletics centres from the sales of bananas at Coles over a one week period.
