Happy to announce that our new spatio-spectral laser diagnostic was selected by Optics and Photonics News (OPN) as one of the 30 optics breakthroughs in 2024. IMPALA (Iterative Multispectral Phase Analysis for LAsers), developed jointly with Slava Smartsev and the team at Laboratoire d'Optique Appliquée (LOA) in France, uses a simple pinhole mask together with a novel algorithm to give users critical information about high-power, short pulse lasers. We are happy to have Dr. Carlos Trallero as an invited speaker at the Timepix VMI Workshop, in collaboration with DESY, this October in Hamburg! 🔬 Talk Title: "Symmetries in 3D Momentum Spectroscopy and Extension to Coincidence Detection of Nano Ion Formations" Dr. Carlos will present a novel 3D velocity map imaging device capable of detecting electrons in coincidence with ion time-of-flight detection. This method enhances dichroic and enantiosensitive measurements using intense elliptically polarized light. For the first time, he will showcase systematic studies of dichroic photoelectron distributions in atoms and the formation of vortices in single-color fields.
