I am deeply honoured to have been invited to discuss AI's significant impact on local businesses, government, and education. This opportunity aligns perfectly with StrivetechAI's mission, as highlighted in our recent publication, "AI and the New Workforce: Unveiling the 'Transforming Work' Journal," which is available via the StrivetechAI website blog posts. Thank you to Philip Alford and Holly Street for inviting our organisation to present at this impactful Southampton Business Innovation Centre event. It was also a pleasure to meet and exchange ideas with other businesses from the local Hampshire area. We are thrilled to be part of this research journey and eagerly anticipate future collaborations on AI business integration and digital innovation. Yesterday, I had the privilege of engaging in a thought-provoking discussion with Richard Hepworth, a partner at Tata Consultancy, at the event. We explored the evolving challenges businesses face as they embrace AI automation—a conversation that further solidified our commitment to staying at the forefront of the industry. 🚀 Exciting Developments at StrivetechAI: We're thrilled to announce our plans to launch our AI Automation Agency soon! This initiative will make cutting-edge AI technologies accessible, empowering small, medium and large businesses with thought leadership, design thinking, and business agility without substantial upfront development costs. 💼 Additionally, our network of AI engineers, machine learning specialists, and data scientists has recently expanded to over 200 consultants. This growth enhances our business agility, enabling us to support customers at any point in their AI journey. As CTIO and founder of StrivetechAI, I am committed to bridging the gap between the tech world and our communities, fostering a more ethical and financially balanced future for all involved. As we progress, let's continue fostering innovation and building together, united by our shared vision of a more technologically advanced and inclusive future. #AI #BusinessInnovation #TechForGood #StrivetechAI #AIautomation #MachineLearning #DataScience #CommunityEngagement #SouthamptonInnovation

Some exciting news to share! Diversity in Sustainability has officially launched our new membership platform. A special shout out to Heather K. Mak (麥穎莜) my brilliantly talented and multi-hyphenate fellow DiS co-founder who spent her summer developing this platform for our members. What does the platform offer? It's a place for networking, to find a mentor, to offer mentorship, to find support with CV/resumes or the application process in general, to seek advice on how to transition or switch into a career in sustainability, to find job opportunities and educational resources, to promote your work, to build your profile and to share your thoughts and ideas on all things sustainability. You can use and leverage the platform in so many ways, but you have to come and see it for yourself. If you have ideas or other suggestions about how we can enhance the tool we'd love to hear your thoughts. Please note there is a fee to join. We've tried to make it an accessible price point, starting at $4 US/$6 CAD/£3.60 per month for undergrads, $7.50USD/$10 CAD/£6 for graduate/PhD students, and $15 USD/$20 CAD/£12 per month for BIPOC and ally sustainability professionals (with a 20% discount for annual memberships!). To sign up, go to our website https://lnkd.in/ggmJgEmw and if you have any questions, please reach out to me. #sustainability #esg #sustainabilitycareers #jobsearch #sustainabilityjobs #esgjobs #diversityequityinclusion #mentorship #networking #careeradvice #careerdevelopment #sustainabilityprofessionals
We are thrilled to announce that our membership platform, Circle, is officially launched. Circle is an easy to use website and app where you can take advantage of DiS’ new membership. From connecting with seasoned BIPOC sustainability professionals and allies, learning about new concepts and opportunities from the community, getting resume/CV feedback, using tools to advance your career, and attending exclusive intimate office hours with leaders in the industry—our Circle is filled with carefully curated experiences and offerings for members at all stages of their careers. President ANZ & Reputation Counsel, Australian PR Leader of the Year, Australian PR Agency of the Year - Midsize, Sefiani
Establishing your own #pragency is a topic I enjoy discussing. It takes me back 24 years when I left Edelman to establish Sefiani. Here are some of the tips I shared with #communications and #socialmedia students at Macquarie University: - Find a business #mentor to share their wisdom as you get started and to be an ongoing sounding board; - Focus on areas of work in which are #expert; - Survey the competitive landscape and find the #niche you can ‘own’; - Develop your #brand, #mission, #vision, #purpose and #businessplan. A side-note here: my mentor (who was an advisor to Kerry Packer at the time) told me that the day you launch your business is the day you should develop your exit plan - and to never name your company after yourself as it can limit the eventual sale potential. I ignored both as I planned to dedicate the rest of my career to building Sefiani into a world-class #corporate and #reputation communications agency with no immediate thoughts to sell; - Secure a foundation #client and treat them like gold so they stay with you; this will pay your bills as you get started and help to attract other clients; - Build and nurture a strong business #network - and don’t be afraid to ask people to recommend you to their network; - Never be embarrassed to ask your clients to pay you on time for the good work you have delivered. A healthy #cashflow is king; - Don’t be afraid to hire people who are #smarter than you. This has been a key factor in the enduring success of Sefiani where the smarts and expertise of our #people sets us apart; - Never be complacent, continue to #learn and #innovate; - Choose to work with clients you like and #respect and who respect you; - And finally, work hard and have fun 😊 #controlyourowndestiny
💯 With the final marks wrapped up, I wish to extend a huge thanks to our amazing industry guests, clients, and over 300 undergraduate and postgraduate public relations and social media students for being part of #MQAgency in 2023! 💡 Being able to bring together inspiring experts with emerging professionals, while guiding student agencies to support real organisations with their PR and social media strategies, is a real highlight of my role. 👩🏫 Supporting students this year was a wonderful new teaching team of Nicole Lenoir-Jourdan, Dennis Bruining, Amanda Burgess, and Dani Redmond. 🎡 A special shout-out also to our amazing Professional and Community Engagement (PACE) support team, Marianne Garupa - Manila, Tammy Loh and Kate Maitland for being the wheels behind this operation. ⭐ Even after teaching for 10 years, I love that every day I am still learning something new in a constantly changing and diverse industry. It has been a real privilege learning from and working with each and every one of you! 🥂 Wishing everyone a happy and rejuvenating summer season and looking forward to staying connected in 2024 and beyond 😊 If anyone reading this is interesting in being involved in our program as a guest or client in 2024, please don't hesitate to reach out. Prospective students and careers advisors are also most welcome to touch base if they'd like to learn more about studying PR and social media at Macquarie University.
