Would you know how to support a young person who felt #suicidal? In partnership with our charity partner, Campaign Against Living Miserably has released a powerful new film that tells the story of Evelyn, who took her own life just months before her 16th birthday. She is just one of the 6,929 young people in the UK who have died by suicide in the last 10 years. Each one, a life lost too soon. Funded by Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation, Campaign Against Living Miserably created the CALM C.A.R.E. Kit to help us all take action to end youth suicide. It’s a step-by-step tool with practical advice on how to protect the young people in your life from suicide. #PleaseShare to help save lives. ❣️ For more information about the C.A.L.M. kit click here 👉 : https://bit.ly/4juq17B Richard Walker OBE Iceland Foods the food WAREHOUSE The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood #youthsuicide #youthsuicideprevention #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters https://lnkd.in/ek-3eK-4

This week is Babyloss Awareness Week (https://lnkd.in/eUMqUsuQ) a time to honor and remember the lives that have been lost too soon and the families who continue to grieve. This cause holds deep significance for many— whether we've personally experienced the heartbreak of child loss or know someone who has. For families navigating the loss of a baby, the emotional toll can be immense. As several of you who know me will know, it was for me and my wife. But what’s more heartbreaking is how often these experiences are met with silence. Babyloss Awareness Week helps break that silence, fostering community, understanding, and crucial support for those affected. By raising awareness and supporting families through their grief, we can ensure no one has to walk this journey alone. I encourage you to visit Babyloss Awareness Week to learn more about how you can contribute to this cause, from spreading awareness to making a donation that supports families in need of resources, care and a bit of love. Together, we can make a difference. Every bit of compassion helps. 💙💖 The charity SANDS really helped me and my wife after our daughter was stillborn and after our miscarriage. Therefore i wanted to share the donation link here in the event that anyone was interested (https://lnkd.in/eWsJhn7G). Please do share this post (as you feel comfortable) to spread awareness. #BabylossAwarenessWeek #BreakTheSilence #SupportFamilies #RememberingTheBabies #PregnancyAndInfantLoss

MAYA Organization is a maternal and child health organization that provides education, prenatal and postpartum care, therapists, products, and other resources that are free to the public. As a partner of Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank, they distribute period products along with diapers to better serve their client families. MAYA values that our partnership supports families, especially postpartum mothers with additional resources. MAYA started out with pads to help with bleeding post-birth and help mother's adapt to life with a baby. The parents are happy to save money as prices continue to climb. “They can save a few dollars and we are grateful to take a little bit of stress,” says Amber Edmunds, Program Director of MAYA Organization. MAYA is taking on the opportunity to provide clients the chance to participate in virtual Period Advocacy Project classes. This opportunity allows all people with various backgrounds to learn more about periods and create a support system. By coming together it is making all attendees more knowledgeable about period and period poverty as well as demystifying the topic. “Think about the folks that have a period that do not know how it works, the actual functional purpose, and what it means to be "of reproductive age", to have autonomy in this season of your life and over your body. To have access to fact-based culturally, age-appropriate information and have your questions answered with no shame,” shares Amber. “This is an opportunity to get them talking and to take the knowledge where there is often a history of stigma and shame, this class not only normalizes, it empowers the person, being comfortable with sharing this information will ultimately empower our communities.” MAYA Organization supports families with an average of 8,000 period products a year in addition to 30,000 diapers from Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank, saving families over $13,000 a year. MAYA is one of 45 partners the Diaper Bank supports with period products. Give today and help us fight period poverty!

In two weeks Monica is heading to Salt Lake City to speak at the Heartbeat International conference. Heartbeat International is an association of thousands of pregnancy resource centers (PRCs). During their annual conference, they offer affiliates detailed training on running a successful PRC. The conference is massive, with thousands of in-person and virtual attendees. The conference is so popular, in fact, that Heartbeat doesn't need to solicit presenters. Instead, pro-life speakers apply to present months in advance. It's a competitive process, with Heartbeat choosing from among hundreds of applications. We're proud to say this year SPL was approved! So on April 24, Monica will be giving part of SPL's Building Bridges presentation to PRC staff and volunteers. Specifically she'll discuss how to build connection and have useful conversations with Americans who are ambivalent on the abortion issue. She's given the full presentation to PRC staff in the past with resounding success. While some speaking engagements are paid, this one isn't, and the conference doesn't cover travel costs for presenters. Instead it's because of your support that we're able to (1) increase SPL's visibility with the pregnancy help side of the pro-life movement and (2) train more PRC folks on how to do effective outreach in an increasingly secular culture. Travel expenses (flight, hotel) have amounted to less than $800. If you'd like to help with these costs, please donate here: https://ow.ly/tieu50RbNNp

This International Men's Day we're celebrating the positive impact that fathers bring to their families and communities. We've sent a briefing - 'A New Deal for British Fathers' - to all MPs ahead of Thursday's (21st Nov) IMD debate in parliament, highlighting our three main asks to transform life for UK dads: 🍼 A substantially better statutory paternity offer 👉 Learn more about our 'six weeks for dads' campaign: https://lnkd.in/emp7ZG3e 🍼 Health checks for new dads 👉 Learn more about our 'looking out for dad' campaign: https://lnkd.in/eazUg_46 🍼 A Fatherhood Champion in every local authority We've also published a new blog, arguing that if Labour want to stop young men drifting towards the parties of the right, it should make reform of fatherhood policy and services a key priority. 👉 Why a better paternal health offer is key for Labour: https://lnkd.in/eSdugS3x Fatherhood is a key rite of passage for most men, and it’s time to do more to recognise its importance and support men through it. 👀 More on this to come... #internationalmensday #menshealth #6weeksfordads #lookingoutfordad #parliamentarydebate #policychange #fatherhood #perinatalmentalhealth

We're making great progress on eliminating syphilis in pregnancy in the Philippines. A big part of that success is the way that we work - providing 'technical assistance.' But a lot of people don't really know what 'technical assistance' means - and honestly, we didn't either for a while! To find out exactly what it means, and why it can be such a powerful way to a positive change, check out our latest newsletter that unpacks four great words I heard from the Philippines government recently: 'Thanks for the push!' https://lnkd.in/gnUAxhxE

🌍 World Prematurity Month: Shining a Light on Our Tiny Warriors 🌍 November marks World Prematurity Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the challenges and triumphs of babies born too soon. Each year, about 15 million babies are born prematurely, many facing serious health challenges that require specialized care and support. The Importance of Awareness Premature birth is the leading cause of death in children under 5 years old, yet with proper care, many of these lives can be saved. Raising awareness is crucial to ensuring that families receive the support they need, and that healthcare systems are equipped to provide the best possible care for these fragile lives. How You Can Help ·Educate Yourself and Others: Learn about the causes and prevention of preterm birth. ·Support Families: Offer your support to families who are caring for premature babies. Simple acts of kindness can go a long way. ·Advocate: Support policies and programs that improve care for premature babies and their families. ·Donate: Consider contributing to organizations that fund research and support for preterm infants and their families. Real Stories, Real Impact Meet incredible families who have journeyed through the challenges of premature birth and emerged stronger. Their stories are a testament to the resilience of our tiniest fighters and the power of community support. #WorldPrematurityMonth #SupportPreemies #TinyFighters
