The Kalam Institute of Health Technology (KIHT), the WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Innovations, aims to encourage and scale global health innovations. The event will bring together stakeholders from government and WHO member states, academia, start-up accelerators, innovation funders, champions, and key players in the innovation value chain to address unresolved challenges and questions related to public sector uptake and scaling of innovations, including procurement, funding, and assessment of different types of innovations. 

I'm happy to share our latest article in the BMJ Global Health titled "Shaping a new era of global health for greater impact: CUGH 2024 highlights." We highlight a few themes poised to shape the future of global health practice. Global health continues to grapple with significant inequities, raising concerns around the roles of technology and AI, the value of Indigenous knowledge systems, and the distribution of global health financing. Our paper synthesizes key themes from the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) 2024 conference, offering insights into the beneficial and detrimental impacts of AI, the integration of Indigenous knowledge into culturally competent healthcare delivery, and the urgent need to decolonize global health financing.
