Hard to imagine going on 3 months and not hired yet. When you come to the table with: - Over 30 years of Customer/Client Service experience - Over 20 years of IT experience - Over 10 years of Sales experience - Over 10 years of Physical and Corporate Security experience Reliable, Loyal, Honest and Dedicated. Not to mention knowing what the word 'Integrity' means. Must be a tough market out there when you have a list of skills that the market is lacking in anyone under 35 years old. Should I be a mindless zombie that looks at my phone all day and shows up to work in sweatpants/pjs and has zero people skills? Begs the question - 'What are companies looking for these days' (other then laying people off to keep share holders happy)?

🚨 Cautionary Tale: Almost Scammed! 🚨 Today, I had a close call with a potential scam. A company claiming to be Zotec Partners reached out to me, offering a remote job in technical support. As someone actively seeking internships or full-time roles, I was initially thrilled. 🌟 However, my instincts kicked in, and I noticed several red flags: 1. Too Good to Be True: The offered pay seemed unrealistically high. 🤔 2. Email-Only Onboarding: The entire onboarding process was to be conducted via email. 📧 3. Inconsistencies: Upon closer inspection, I discovered discrepancies in the email content. The sender’s address didn’t match the company’s name, and there were inconsistencies within the email body. 🕵️♀️ Thankfully, I reached out to my mentor for guidance. Together, we unraveled the deception. If I had proceeded, I might have found myself in massive debt. 😱 Lesson Learned: Be vigilant during your job search! Scammers lurk everywhere, preying on unsuspecting individuals. 🦉 Stay safe out there, fellow job seekers! 🙌 #ScamAware #JobSearchTips #StayVigilant #JobScamPrevention #TrustYourInstincts

Technology can be wonderful. And it can help us streamline or prevent volumes of people “at our door.” But what if we missed an opportunity to find the very person or persons we were looking for because there is just a one dimensional information exchange, or more importantly - a chance for technology to default a human midunderstanding because the instructions were you only hear from us if there’s a match. That would mean you don’t follow up. But what if you didn’t get a message and they thought you were not interested? So, after a reasonable amount of time, you reply to their email, and Outlook notifies you immediately it has identified you as spam and blocked you. There are no names, phone numbers, or communication route in their emails besides their instructions. Your intuition tells you they don’t know that. Your awareness knows they want exceptional client care, creativity, comfort in unique thinking, etc. Hmm, The rules and manners these days of getting hired are not the old fashioned going in person, but you are more concerned about making sure they know about these technical glitches that could cost them and others the chance to connect. ——————————————————————- So I took a chance and did an old fashioned thing as politely as I could. For all of us, one dimensional can be an elimination, and with all communication, there can be errors or breakdowns we didn’t know about. It could be kind of like a groom needed to send a message that he would be 20 minutes late to the alter, and the bride didn’t receive the drone message so after waiting for 19 minutes, she and her whole family left - heartbroken. All a misunderstanding, and a terrible missed opportunity. ——————————————————————- I took a chance to break the rules, I talked my way past a security gate (with honestly,) a gentlemen in a gulf cart picked me up in my heels and drove me to the front door, where one of the exact persons I needed to see (without an appointment) happened to be standing and he explained why I wanted to see her and they invited me to come speak to her. Sometimes demonstrating who you are, with more concern for other people and the good and misses that could happen are still the right thing to do, even with protocols. Sometimes humbling yourself, to show you’re still interested, is a good thing to risk. #storytime #communication #technology #hiring #clientcare #community #rules #process #insight
