HackCSB 2024: A Transformative Journey . . . As I prepare to start my Computer Science bachelor’s degree, I couldn’t have asked for a more exhilarating experience than being a core organizing member of HackCSB 2024. This was my first dive into the hackathon world, and the innovation and collaboration I witnessed were truly inspiring. A huge congratulations to our exceptional finalists: *Plant Prophet: AI-driven farming solutions that enhance efficiency and sustainability. *Grey Matter: Connecting students with Bangladeshi researchers to foster collaboration. *MedVisual: Improving healthcare delivery in Bangladesh through technology. We were honored to have a distinguished panel of judges, including: - Principal Software Engineering Managers from Microsoft & Google - 3x Y Combinator Founders and US Venture Capital Investors - Top individuals from the University of Cambridge, Meta, and Netflix Their insights and expertise added immense value, affirming the quality and potential of our participants’ work. HackCSB is more than just a competition; it’s a movement to cultivate a robust hackathon culture in Bangladesh. As I observed the creativity and collaboration among participants, it became clear that this event is a launching pad for aspiring innovators. The Ministry of Science and Technology sets a theme for National Technology Day every year as a symbol of creativity and scientific inquiry. This day is celebrated by presenting awards to noteworthy individuals, individuals, and businesses for their contribution in the field of technology and science. Technology Development Board (TBD) presents ‘Technology Day Awards’ in three categories namely- Flight Trophy –For successful commercialization of Indigenous technology, Feather trophy for MSME for commercializing indigenous technology based product and Leaf Trophy– For Start-Ups in development of promising technology for future commercialization. TBD is first of its kind organization in government framework with the sole objective of commercialization of indigenous research and technology.
