The contract, lasting approximately two years includes the planning of upcoming #offshore #geotechnical site investigations in DDWWFZ, the development of a fully Integrated Ground model for the entire Investigation Area and the preparation of a comprehensive Geotechnical Interpretative Report. The aim of the project is to prepare, interpret and integrate marine exploration data in order to enable potential investors to assess the cable, layout and foundation conditions within the DDWWFZ and assist their preparation and submission of bids within the Wind Farm Zone. Underlining our commitment to the Australian energy market our CEO, Annabel Green, will be travelling to Perth to join our Region Manager, Rob Crawford, in presenting at the EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers) 4th workshop on Fiber Optic Sensing for Energy Applications. The event takes place on 14-15 August: https://lnkd.in/esnTb_Jd . Annabel and Rob will be available to meet with customers in Perth, both during and after the show, so please get in touch for meeting availability. Well-SENSE has deployed optical fibre for a wide range of well applications in Australia and Papua New Guinea, covering CO2 storage, mining, oil and gas E&P and abandonment. We’re continuing to develop our local resource of people, products and partnerships, working closely with R&D Solutions and building a track record of success. At the EAGE workshop Annabel will participate in the panel session: ‘Fiber Optic Sensing for Monitoring: Lessons Learned, Challenges, Opportunities and Strategies’. She will then present a case study in session 7 on day 2 (3:40 PM), explaining how bare fibre optic well surveillance was used to identify several discrete integrity concerns in two high temperature remote land wells ahead of P&A operations. The findings were used to inform the operator’s abandonment plan, demonstrating the excellent utility of FiberLine Intervention (#FLI). Read the full case study here: https://lnkd.in/emkeg3aG Rob will also present a case study in session 7 on day 2 (4:00 PM) showing how FLI used DAS to detect tiny leak paths behind casing, despite the challenge of ambient noise interference in a semi-urban location in New South Wales. FiberLine Intervention was used due to its ability to be deployed under statutory noise controls at night and for its ability to provide a real-time, distributed well profile while pressure was manipulated at surface. Identifying leak paths in this well allowed the operator to make informed abandonment decisions. The case study demonstrates the utility of FLI to inform land well abandonment, while reducing mobilisation footprint, cost and environmental impact.
