It mainly affects the spine but can also affect other joints, tendons and ligaments. 1 in 200 of the adult population in the UK have axial SpA (AS). 🏃🏽♀️🏃🏾🏅 Last year marked an unforgettable experience as I joined my brother Torrance Ford and the incredible team at Shaw Industries for the St. Jude Marathon raising over 467,000. He tackled the 10K, while I took on my first 5K, and it was a journey of both physical and emotional significance. Running for such a noble cause surrounded by people with the same positive purposeful energy created a spiritual atmosphere. It was amazing. We're gearing up to lace up our running shoes and take on the St. Jude Marathon, 5k and 10k, again on December 2, 2023. It's not just about the distance; it's about the difference we can make. Can't wait to join my brother and the Shaw Industries team once more in this meaningful journey. Thanks to my brother for extending the invitation and being a source of inspiration. It's not just a run; it's a run with heart and purpose inspiring positive change embedded with corporate social responsibility. I ♥️ it. It's difficult to describe the wonderful collective energy we experienced during both days of our Goalmakers 2023 Annual Conference. Crowd funding plea to bring my planet-planet-positive project to life: Imagine a world without food... In 2021, 2.1 million(11,6%) of South African households reported experiencing hunger and with climate change this number is increasing as food is becoming more and more expensive to grow, leading to price hikes in basic food. Coming from a not-so-priviledged background myself, I have seen and experienced the limitations of hunger. This is one of the reasons I applied to join the beVisioneers: The Mercedes-Benz Fellowship. While I have an idea of how my project could help solve the looming food scarcity problem, I have am opportunity to spend the next 10 months understanding THE PROBLEM. Finding a root cause to a problem leads to a far better solution than just dealing with symptoms.
