ROSÉ WINE IS ON THE RISE IN ASIA... even if it's still in the early stages of consumption. It remains a niche market compared to other wines but the future looks promising particularly among young, middle-class consumers in China and Southeast Asian countries like Vietnam or Thailand. Established wine regions like Provence or Bordeaux in France are focusing on this new interest since growth projections for APAC region are about +6,85% (CAGR) for wines including rosés. In some specific countries like Singapore or Hong Kong rosé consumption reached +50% in volume during the past years. Among a red & white production, Château SUAU also bottles a 100% Cabernet rosé wine, which reveals beautiful aromas of red fruits, perfect for aperitifs, but also with the spiciness of Asian cuisines. A few days ago, we had the pleasure of participating in the Barcelona Wine Week 2024. It was a great experience, that gave the opportunity to high quality Spanish wines to be recognized on a global stage. In fact, over 20,000 visitors from all over the world came to taste wines from 952 wineries and more than 100 experts participated, showcasing the current trends of the industry. However, as this Meininger’s international article highlights, the Spanish wine industry is facing many challenges, with exports declining in markets like the US, and still not recognized a the level it should be. https://lnkd.in/dxsP4neD We are optimistic for the future of this industry as we experienced an increased quality and diversity between different wine regions. We could see many of those efforts at the BWW.
