Being very British I always find it hard to talk about things I’ve done but Rely just reposted this chat I had with Nathan Luker about integrity in sport and post Olympics and pre Paralympics I think it remains relevant and hopefully interesting. I was lucky enough to work in Australia and see first hand a world first model in Sport Integrity Australia’s establishment of the National Integrity Framework - combined with incredible community education and campaigns via Play by the Rules such as Let Kids be Kids and Start to Talk (now led by the awesome Tom Dixon). There’s so much to learn and share about how to set expectations around conduct and triage unacceptable conduct (and even criminal conduct) to the right place to set the right tone and culture in any organisation. If you have time take a look at both these models - I think there’s so much we can learn from international cooperation in this space. And if in doubt know it, live it, log it! 👍🏻 #sport #conduct #integrity #nationalintegrityframework #sportintegrity #letkidsbekids #starttotalk
Now that we're basking in the post-Olympic glow & all the remarkable sporting achievements we witnessed, what better time than now to focus on protecting the integrity of the sports we love. Join Rely co-founder & CEO, Nathan Luker, as he & Elaine Heaney dive into the importance of strong leadership to build an integrity-led culture in sport. https://lnkd.in/gsXh5CZT

Just had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Fawn Weaver, the CEO of Uncle Nearest, my favorite whisky here in Nashville at the AMAC Conference. Thanks AMAC. Two key takeaways: 1) Fawn has an incredible background story. 2) If you are a whiskey lover and haven't tried Uncle Nearest yet, you're missing out! Why the Small Details Matter: Van Halen, M&M’s and a Personal Experience Don’t underestimate the power of the small things. If a presentation features four slides, each with a different font, what other details might be overlooked? Ignoring the basics during a sales process could signal more significant issues, potentially affecting client or organizational trust. In the 1980s, Van Halen's tour contract included a seemingly trivial clause: a bowl of M&M’s with all the brown ones removed. The band would check the bowl before each concert. While the M&M’s themselves weren’t the focus, the clause was a proxy for more crucial requirements, like electrical codes and stage weight limits. If the simple request was ignored, it suggested that the more critical requirements might have been neglected too. The M&M’s weren’t important, but they ensured that the larger, vital details were likely handled correctly. This lesson extends to our professional lives. Small details can significantly impact the overall experience. Think of the small touches at a fine restaurant or hotel that leave a lasting impression. Recently, I had an incredible lunch with a colleague over Venezuelan sushi (a delightful surprise if you haven't tried it yet!). I've had the honor of leading this individual for several years and have learned as much from him as I hope he has from me. Part of our interactions involved assisting with data requests from the US federal government, which included many small but critical details. At lunch, he handed me a card with gratitude, having successfully obtained his green card. The heartfelt thanks he expressed reminded me of the Van Halen story. It underscored in a very meaningful way that even small contributions can play a crucial role in someone’s success. Thank you to my friend for sharing this milestone with me. It’s a privilege to be a small part of your journey, and I deeply appreciate the opportunity. You deserve every success that comes your way. #Leadership #FutureLeaders David Lee Ruth explains the story himself. https://lnkd.in/gtxhyUFY

Enterprise SaaS Expert delivering software success | Fostering client partnerships (and 4 legged friends) | Australian in Texas
🌟 Canto SKO left an indelible mark on my career journey, standing out as THE best #SKO experience. It wasn't just about enduring a typical PowerPoint parade and being talked at; it was an immersive blend of reward, inspiration, and genuine camaraderie. No checkboxes here—just real, impactful team building in one luxurious and stunning location. The schedule struck the perfect balance, allowing us ample time for both learning and leisure. The cuisine whispered, "You're worth it," echoing the sentiment of appreciation from our leaders throughout our time in Austin, Texas. We departed feeling more than just colleagues; we were a tight knit family with a shared purpose. This photo, with our stunning daily view, captures the magic of unity and achievement. It exemplifies how investing in company culture and morale yields tremendous results. This is what effective team building looks like—more than just a checkbox, it's about delivering tangible outcomes and fostering genuine connection. What a phenomenal time indeed! #Canto SKO #TeamBuilding #CompanyCulture #bestcompanytoworkfor #leadershiplessons

Though I love AI too😉 Building & strategizing together as BIPOC's in leadership. For a long time we as BIPOC's didn't understand the power of collective strategizing, moving as ONE Force. We are UN-stoppable when we recognize there's strength in numbers..... & COLLABORATE as a COLLECTIVE FORCE to elevate our systemically disenfranchised communities, entrepreneurs by harnessing our voices in harmony at tables & also build tables together creating our own space demostrating our economic power .... ....When there's a gathering of Collectively Great Minds, strategies only head ⬆️⬆️"UPWARDS"⬆️⬆️ Let's Go 👏🏾 Mauricio Montes de Oca Rico Paul V.
