Here are a few things I have learned throughout my internship!

At Phoenix Contact our internship program is unique because our interns are considered employees, not just interns. Interns work on REAL projects that affect our customers and business. Our program is not like what you see on TV. A common misconception is that interns grab coffee, do busy work, and are treated like assistants. Not the case at PxC! Interns are highly valued and we trust our interns with high level important projects with support along the way! The entire experience is set up to be a trial run to their future career and prepare them for a professional job! Our interns learn the skills needed to be successful post graduation entering the professional world!👨💼🧑💼👩💼🙌

Interesting insights with Washington Post Live regarding internships. Too often we only look at a junior in college to hire for an intern. With higher education's journey changing so much, so too should company's strategy when it comes to hiring interns. If you're waiting until they are a junior in college - we say that's too late.

Part of our Greater Good sustainability strategy is making sure we provide employment and training opportunities for people, and internships is one of the ways we look to do that.
