There have been significant developments in the use of robots for work on overhead power lines. These robots can perform tasks that were traditionally done by human workers, such as identifying, positioning, and grasping electrical leads. They use laser cutting technology to peel off insulation layers on wires and complete splicing of branch leads. This technology not only enhances efficiency but also significantly reduces the risks to human workers, such as electrical shocks. These advancements in robot technology for electrical grid maintenance highlight a growing trend towards automation in response to challenging environmental conditions and the need for more efficient and safer maintenance procedures

I'm playing around with different renderings to show the concept of activity-driven DVS frames, such as we use in our Dextra roshambo robot. This one shows in jAER the DVS frames in space time together with the raw brightness change events; each DVS frame consists here of about 10k events. Does it get across the concept? This integration method effectively controls motion blur and makes the subsequent processing activity-driven, so when there is no motion, there is no processing, but the faster the motion, the quicker the system reacts.

Hydroelectric dam penstocks often require preventative maintenance to ensure optimal operation. However, manual inspections pose significant dangers and may not offer a comprehensive picture of the state of the system over time. To address this challenge, we developed a unique robotic system by integrating components from Trimble Applanix’s Indoor Mobile Mapping Solution (TIMMS) onto our Husky robot. The robot is also equipped with our OutdoorNav Autonomy Software making the system ideal for a full inspection workflow. I run a robotics YouTube channel and have experience working on robotics projects for about 6 years now and quite a lot more to go. I have built a website for robotics enthusiasts! I love F1 & know quite a bit about it
Have you guys heared about the Arduino project Human following robot? Do you think this project is fundementally flawed? Why is it flawed? because it follows anything which emits radiation(it will follow objects in a staight line regardless of radiation as the component used is an ultrasonic sensor. But only if the object radiates can it turn. Why? because it has IR sensors which detect radiation) yet it is still called a human following robot. How about a change and actually make it a human following robot? Check out my solution! https://lnkd.in/gqbW33M2
