The 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 recently caught up with... BJ Carney, Vice President Geoscience & Innovation at Northeast Natural Energy, the first U.S. natural gas producer to receive the EO100™ certification and the first company in the Appalachian region to achieve an "A" rating from MiQ - Methane Intelligence for almost its entire production, to hear insights for the best ways to comply, and how Northeast Natural Energy has achieved such status. In the interview, B.J. says: "We're the first producer in the world to achieve 'A' grades in both the MiQ and EO certification processes. This journey began about five years ago when we embarked on our methane mitigation efforts." "At the time, we were early movers in the certification space, alongside the certification bodies themselves. We learnt and understood the landscape together, and as we gained more knowledge and experience, we adapted our processes and systems accordingly." A couple of years ago I figured that CCS would be the first, biggest opportunity for oil companies, but now it seems like geothermal may be the bigger opportunity for smaller companies, and Geo2Watts is bringing a creative, "powerful" idea to use old wellbores for thermal energy storage. See question 6 in the JPT Q&A about the IRA and ARO. It is especially well-suited for steam floods, firefloods, or wells otherwise designed for hot fluids, and they are seeking industry partners to complete and test a prototype. If you have expertise or wells that might help the project, I encourage you to reach out to Phil Cruver or Bill Bartling. https://lnkd.in/gf9N-kP2 Dwayne Purvis, P.E.

Completions power American Energy Independence. Major credit is owed to the technology for reversing the decline in US oil production and propelling it from 5.9 million B/D in 1999 to almost 13 million B/D today - making the US the world’s top producer. As the bedrock of the energy transition, oil and gas remains an important part of our energy mix today. That’s why we need innovative solutions to drive performance and decarbonize operations. Our bio-based chemistries support American industry and minimize carbon emissions. Environmentally friendly. Cost-effective. Performance enhancing. Farm to Wellhead®. Jim H. Joe Dryer, President and CEO, Fairfield Geotechnologies, testifies before the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources in the hearing titled “Assessing Domestic Offshore Energy Reserves & Ensuring U.S. Energy." Join the livestream here: https://bit.ly/4cqkH1I #Geoscience surveys provide the information governments and policymakers need to make informed decisions in the best interest of their citizens regarding accessing mainstay energy and alternative sources, as well as developing low-carbon strategies. As nations develop and implement their #energyevolution goals to make reliable, affordable energy available to their citizens and meet #NetZeroEmissions (NZE) policy ambitions, it is important to understand that those goals cannot and will not be realized without the critical data and technology the geoscience industry provides. “At EnerGeo we are advocating to ensure all policymakers and energy companies have access to reliable data and analysis to support their forward-moving efforts," says Dryer.

𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡: 𝐆𝐞𝐨2𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐎𝐢𝐥 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐬. Geo2Watts is transforming abandoned oil and gas wells into renewable energy assets using solar power and sand. In this exclusive Q&A, co-founders Phil Cruver, Bill Bartling, and Ken Murray share their vision and the innovative technology behind their “borehole battery.” Companies would not normally view abandoned and orphaned oil and gas wells as assets. Historically, this nonproductive and potentially hazardous infrastructure has been labeled a liability without a uniform set of regulations to address its future—and many times without an identifiable owner to hold responsible for it. California-based Geo2Watts sees these wells differently. The company wants to repurpose these old producers into thermal energy storage systems capable of electricity generation using two chief ingredients: solar power and sand.

You have the opportunity now to begin planning on the conversion from diesel to RNG fuel for your heavy duty vehicles. Your primary benefit from this conversion is tax credits which can substantial. To get the latest and most comprehensive RNG conversion information attend the Appalachian RNG Conference which is featuring two speaker with in-depth knowledge: -- Brad Huxter, RNG Offtake & Investment, Love's Trillium Energy -- Dan Gage, President, The Transport Project, an offshoot of the American Gas Association Both of these gentleman will show you have to begin the transition to RNG. It's coming. You want to get ahead of it. https://lnkd.in/eFFds-GX #RNG #Diesel #Renewablediesel #oil #naturalgas #oilgas #renewablefuels #dieselengines #dieselconversions #rngtechnologies

As the need for safe and dependable energy rises, achieving energy independence has never been more vital. Innovations in fracking are leading us toward reduced dependence on foreign energy sources, enabling us to shape our energy future. ⚡ Improved drilling techniques and the introduction of addressable switches have opened up vast domestic reserves of oil and natural gas that were previously inaccessible. These breakthroughs enhance production and ensure we can meet increasing energy demands while managing costs. Advanced fracking technology is paving the way for a self-sufficient energy landscape—one where our security in energy supply becomes a reality. 🔧 #Energy #EnergySector #Innovation #TechFuture #AddressableSwitches #FrackingTech #Fracking #BlackFrac

In the West, many people are of the impression that a radical shift from oil and gas (red meat) to a complete phase-out of hydrocarbons (vegan) is the way to go, often without differentiating between oil and natural gas at all. But, I think we are now waking up to the realization that it is not so easy and that natural gas is the transition energy source – the chicken – that could help bridge the gap in hydrocarbon energy supply and the demand for net zero emissions, says Edward Wiarda, EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers)'s president and geophysicist at EBN B.V. in this article in which he reflects on his year at the EAGE and the energy landscape. https://lnkd.in/eAJcEe-Q
