Leadership is more than just a title—it’s about integrity, empathy, and action. As I continue my journey towards becoming a pediatrician, I am reminded that true leadership, especially in healthcare, is built on the respect and trust of the team and patients you serve.Caring for children demands not only clinical expertise but also deep empathy, compassion, and setting the right example for those around us. Every action counts, every word matters. This powerful reminder applies to all of us, whether in healthcare or beyond.#Leadership #Pediatrics #Empathy #HealthcareLeadership #Teamwork

I’m excited to share that I have earned my "Congenital Hypothyroidism: What Every Primary Care Provider Needs to Know" from Stanford University School of Medicine. I’ve gained valuable insights into Congenital Hypothyroidism (CH) to ensure early diagnosis and effective management. CH can have significant impacts on growth and development if not treated promptly. Here are some key points to consider: Early Screening and Diagnosis: Newborn screening is essential for early detection. Confirmatory testing should follow any abnormal screening results. Treatment Initiation: Starting levothyroxine treatment as soon as possible is critical to prevent developmental delays. Monitoring and Adjustment: Regular monitoring of TSH and free T4 levels helps in adjusting the dosage to maintain optimal thyroid function. Parental Education: Educating parents about the importance of medication adherence and regular follow-ups is vital for the child’s health. #PrimaryCare #Pediatrics #CongenitalHypothyroidism #Healthcare

In the United Kingdom, the National Health Service of England (NHSE) launched a pilot initiative designed to understand the impact of making HCL systems universally available. “These findings align with existing real-world data, suggesting the superiority of HCL systems in achieving target glucose range, preventing hypoglycemia, and reducing glycaemic variability,” "The investigators noted that nocturnal hypoglycemia is a significant concern for people with T1D and their caregivers, and the HCL systems provide parents “with greater peace of mind” while ensuring children can sleep without interruptions." https://lnkd.in/diBsNSQQ #diabetes #technology #automation #sleep #pediatrics #realworld #data #outcomes

🤔 When we consider the overarching quality of care for infants with Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome (NOWS), is earlier discharge from the NICU the best quality indicator? The care for opioid-exposed infants has shifted in recent years. Fortunately, there is a heightened emphasis on non-pharmacologic interventions, non-judgmental care, and empowering families as co-regulators. 🌟👶 Many neonatal units have implemented Eat Sleep Console protocols and drastically reduced the length of stay. 🏥⏳ How do we measure the quality of care for these babies? 🤔 What do the experts say? Harrison et al. (2024) explored this very topic and identified a range of quality indicators to help measure hospital performance, intervention studies, and national benchmarking. 📊✨ Learn more about their research and results in this video abstract: https://lnkd.in/gmjNEwcS #NICUCare #OpioidExposedInfants #NOWS #EatSleepConsole #QualityCare #NeonatalTherapy #FamilyCenteredCare #Pediatrics

Primary care lacks enough applicants to fill Match Day more so than all other specialties combined. Each in fact can claim the same. #internalmedicine #familymedicine #pediatrics. The low pay isn’t alone the reason. The corporatization -70%-has eliminated autonomy and burden of coding and prior auths creates a factory medicine burnout buzzsaw. And of those entering 68% don’t plan to see patients. This goes beyond a wake up call. It’s a giant opportunity for winning models like direct care that show zero evidence of factory medicine burnout.
