❤️💚 Happy Kwanzaa! ❤️🖤 Kwanzaa is a holiday created in 1966 by Maulana Ron Karenga to celebrate African American and Pan-African history, values, family, community, and culture. The celebration lasts seven days and culminates in the Kwanzaa Feast on the sixth night, known as Kwanzaa Karamu. 🫘 Traditional foods for Kwanzaa vary depending on the household, but they are usually based on the commonly found foods of the African Diaspora and influenced by French, Spanish, African, Caribbean Islands, and southern US cuisine. Some common ingredients include salted fish, red beans, stewed collard greens, mango, okra, and seafood. 🍤 A single one-pot soup or stew, such as a delicious jambalaya, typically brings together the Kwanzaa feast! What do you plan to have for your Kwanzaa Karamu feast? You can discover more about Kwanzaa food traditions at: https://ow.ly/aBPL50QlgB1.

https://lnkd.in/dTpT-Uv3 Breaking the ice, or shall I say - piña, in a nutshell? One of the questions we at Maya Pistola Agavepura get asked, most often: what is the difference between Agave and Tequila? Well, here it is - Simply put, Agave is the genus (or the parent category) with more than 150+ sub-species under it, making it the parent category for any agave-based spirit that comes out of it. While Tequila is mandated to be made with a specific Agave sub-specie only - the Blue Weber; in five designated regions (called appellations) in Mexico. Pure agave spirits offer wide room for exploration and experimentation - especially with a play on ageing and innovative maturation techniques. They’re perfect to be simply sipped and savoured on ice, and also make for a great base spirit for cocktails – catching the attention of a wide variety of spirit enthusiasts. How do you like to enjoy your Agavepura? My personal recommendation: some Añejo splash of cold water or poured over ice! #ThinkWildDrinkWild HT Slurrp | Joshua Muyiwa #AlcoBev #India #SpiritsIndia #Agave

Suya and Bread: The Love Story You Never Knew You Needed. Once upon a time in Lagos, Suya and Bread met at a street corner grill. It was not just bread, though - it was Hut Loaves from Bukka Hut. The perfect balance of soft, fluffy, golden deliciousness with a hint of magic (don’t ask us how). Bukka Hut Suya, the spicy, smoky heartthrob of every Nigerian, was used to pairing up, but the moment it met Hut Loaves, sparks flew. Suya found itself irresistibly drawn to the warmth and softness of this new companion, a perfect contrast to its bold flavors. The crowd went wild. People who used to eat them separately were asking, "How have we lived this long without Bukka Hut Suya and Hut Loaves together?" It became the ultimate street food power couple, showing up at parties, lunchtime cravings, and midnight snack attacks. So, if you have not tried this iconic duo yet, what are you waiting for? Get yourself to Bukka Hut, grab some Suya, throw in some Hut Loaves, and experience the ultimate love story for your taste buds. P.S. Don’t blame us if you start craving it daily. Love is addictive, after all. ❤️ #SuyaAndBreadLoveStory #BukkaHutSuya #HutLoaves #TasteOfLagos #FoodLoversUnite #NigerianStreetFood #FoodieFavorites #IconicDuo #BoldFlavors #TasteOfNigeria #FoodInnovation #SuyaCravings #BreadAndSuyaPerfection #LagosFoodScene #UltimateTasteExperience #SuyaLove #FoodPairingGoals

This #WorldMeadDay why not celebrate the history of mead with Bemuse and our partner DRYDRINKER LTD 🥂 Mead, often referred to as the "drink of the gods," has a rich and ancient history dating back thousands of years. Believed to be one of the oldest alcoholic beverages, mead is made by fermenting honey with water and sometimes various fruits, spices, grains, or hops. Its origins can be traced to early civilizations across Europe, Africa, and Asia, where it was revered in various cultures and often associated with rituals and ceremonies. In ancient Greece, it was celebrated as a divine drink favoured by the gods and featured in numerous myths and legends. Norse mythology also holds mead in high esteem, with tales of the "mead of poetry" bestowing wisdom and poetic inspiration. During the medieval period, mead was a staple at feasts and banquets across Europe, especially in the British Isles and Scandinavia. Despite its decline in popularity with the advent of beer and wine, mead has experienced a resurgence in recent years (which we are thrilled to be a part of), with craft meaderies reviving traditional recipes and creating innovative new flavours. This timeless beverage continues to enchant and inspire, connecting modern drinkers with an ancient heritage. 🧡 Our refreshing, non-alcoholic, low calorie, sparkling mead is an extremely versatile offering. Now in newly designed cans, and bottle form, Bemuse’ growing range works for on the go, celebrations, quiet nights in, and cocktail creation. 🍸 Choosing one other product from the ‘best of the best’ selection of non-alcoholic drinks on the market at Dry Drinker our co-founder Anna mixed Bemuse Pomona with Pentire Coastal Spirit to make a wonderful mead based creation - 'Meadow Sunset'. Fancy giving it a try? Meadow Sunset 🍹 100ml Bemuse Pomona 50ml Pentire Coastal Spritz Wine glass Ice Why not take a look at all of the options over at www.drydrinker.com and craft your own Meadow Sunset, or simply enjoy Bemuse on its own? #Mead #HoneyMead #AlcoholFreeMead #WorldMeadDay2024

Mid-Autumn Festival is coming next week, so i'd like to talk about Mooncakes as they are a traditional Chinese pastry typically enjoyed during the Mid-Autumn Festival, which celebrates the harvest and the full moon. These round or square pastries have a soft, dense crust and are often filled with a variety of sweet or savory ingredients, depending on regional preferences. The most common fillings include: Lotus seed paste: A smooth, sweet paste made from lotus seeds. Red bean paste: Another popular sweet filling made from red beans. Salted egg yolk: Symbolizing the full moon, a salted egg yolk is often placed in the center of mooncakes, giving a balance of sweet and salty flavors. Mixed nuts and seeds: Some varieties are filled with a combination of nuts, seeds, and dried fruits. Custard: Modern versions of mooncakes sometimes feature creamy custard fillings. Mooncakes are often given as gifts to friends, family, and business partners during the festival. Their round shape symbolizes reunion and togetherness, aligning with the festival’s theme of unity under the full moon. 😍

Carnival doughnuts in Europe vary by country, featuring delightful regional variations. Here are a few popular types: 1. **Germany/Austria**: Known as "Krapfen," these are jam-filled doughnuts dusted with powdered sugar, commonly enjoyed during the Carnival season leading up to Lent. 2. **Italy**: "Castagnole" and "Frittelle" are popular. Castagnole are small, fried dough balls, sometimes filled with custard or chocolate, while Frittelle are larger, yeast-leavened doughnuts, often containing raisins or apples and sprinkled with sugar. 3. **Poland**: "Pączki" are doughnuts filled with jam or another sweet filling and covered with powdered sugar, icing, or glaze. They are particularly associated with Tłusty Czwartek (Fat Thursday), the last Thursday before Lent. 4. **Portugal**: "Malasadas" are sugary, fried dough balls without a hole, traditionally made during Carnaval. They're especially associated with Madeira and the Azores. 5. **Netherlands**: "Oliebollen" are a traditional Dutch treat eaten on New Year's Eve and at funfairs. They are similar to doughnut holes but can contain raisins or currants and are dusted with powdered sugar. 6. **Spain**: "Buñuelos" can be found, which are fried dough balls sometimes filled with cream or custard, and "Rosquillas," which are ring-shaped doughnuts that can be soft or hard, depending on the preparation. Each of these treats brings a sweet touch to the festive Carnival season across Europe, celebrating with local flavors and traditions.
