Around sixteen years ago, we started an English magazine called "City Orange". The Madurai-centric eight-page magazine started as a connecting commercial bridge connecting cities like Madurai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli and Nagercoil with quality like 'Deccan Chronicle' as a Fortnite magazine and was dropped due to some unavoidable reasons within a year and a half. The magazine started with 1000 to 10,000 copies which has been business, new business methods, sports, cinema and entertainment features with hopes of moved towards lakhs. Now why I am mentioning this is because the difficulties we took to reach thousands of people back then were immeasurable, but no one can disagree that today the opportunity to easily reach lakhs of people is more in the digital sphere through the internet. But many people are not aware about how to use it. That magazine idea got into the digital world along with the new print version as my own choice, during this period the effort is not the only reason here. Including efforts., insults, rejections, patience, responsibilities, time and prudence behind the efforts were part of this and moving forward to the goal. The verdict is: Success is not only derived from our efforts directly, it depends on how we are moving forward even if we're pushed to face more rejections with patience & goal. 30th Aug'24 - While Travelling in Shatabdi Express from Bangalore to Chennai, what caugh my attention was 'A Full Page Advertisement of Jharkhand Murty Morcha (JMM)' on Deccan Herald New Paper and got me thinking... 1. Who is reading it? Ad in Hindi in Southern Part of the country by a Local Regional Party from Jharkhand, who does not have any presence any where else in the country. 2. A mistake? Quite an expensive one!! 3. How much Money the political party has to just blow it up? 4. Least JMM can do it to hire a Campaign Manager, who can guide them better. No? 5. New Paper Team only looks at the money and dose not look at the content at all. Isn't it? Jokes apart, there is a lesson for Marketing Campaigns - Have a Good Campaign Manager, Choose your Audience Appropriately & spend your money wisely!!
