🚶♀️ Swieqi – St Julian’s Junction from a pedestrian perspective Earlier this week, we announced plans for a new road junction upgrade in Swieqi - St. Julian’s to facilitate access to both communities. ❓Many have inquired about active mobility routes in this project. 🟦 The light blue line on the map shows an enhanced pedestrian connection from #Swieqi, (Triq Is-Swieqi) to #StJulians (Triq Santu Wistin, Triq Elija Zammit, and Triq Sant Andrija). 🟨 The project will introduce new footpaths (yellow line). The exit from Swieqi will be enhanced with a link beneath Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli, replacing the current substandard underpass that connects Swieqi Road with Triq Santu Wistin. This improvement will also accommodate pedestrians. 🚶♀️🚶♂️ This project, aimed at eliminating the traffic lights, represents a significant step forward in the agency’s commitment to improve infrastructure and active mobility within the communities of Swieqi and St. Julian’s. #infrastructure4Dpeople #infrastructure4U

This got me thinking about the poorly managed pedestrian vehicular conflicts in Addisabeba especially around major intersection approaches. I think this can better be managed with chanalized crossing, and well designed pedestrian lights. Thus, all road users can efficiently, and safely move. #safemobility #pedesteriancrossing #rethinking

Serbia /March 11, 2024 /ITS International /David Arminas -- #Serbia’s state highways agency #Roads of Serbia - JP Putevi Srbije - has launched a project to integrate modern #ITS technical solutions along one of its major #highways. State road 23, from Čačak via Zlatibor - commonly known as the Zlatibor Highway - is a 1B-class road in central and western Serbia, connecting Pojate with Gostun on the border with Montenegro. Upgrades include variable message signs and better meteorological road stations to alert drivers of changeable driving conditions. The technology will have sensors for measuring visibility distances, wind speed and road surface conditions. Traffic congestion alerts will be part of the upgrades. Late last year, Roads of Serbia reported that the third section of the new 109km Morava A5 Motorway opened to traffic, following the early opening of the first two sections earlier in the year. The A5, 112km long, will be the country's second major transport artery. It will connect east to west, from Pojate to Preljina. Image Source | (©hpgruesen | pixabay)

TO THOSE WHO SAY THAT BEFORE BUILDING THE BRIDGE OVER THE STRAIT OF MESSINA YOU NEED TO BUILD ROADS AND BLA BLA BLA Please review the concept of "mutually exclusive" that you study in your first logic/mathematics lessons: 1. Building roads or railways AND (logical AND) 2. Building the bridge are NOT mutually exclusive things, i.e. both things can be done at the same time. Anyone who doesn't want the bridge should say it clearly. Enough of this "diversionary" hypocrisy. The bridge over the Strait is an infrastructure that is fundamental to Sicily and to the whole of Italy, contributing to the development of the country. All other observations are of secondary importance
