Is your website LGBTQ+ inclusive? Here are four questions you should be asking yourself! 1. Am I using gender-neutral terms in my copy? An effortless approach to this is substituting some gender-specific terms with more inclusive options like "folks," "people," and "partners." 2. Am I integrating LGBTQ+ imagery seamlessly? It's crucial to feature gay or lesbian couples, transgender, and non-binary individuals on your site to highlight the diversity of people who might be exploring your content. 3. Does your newsletter sign up form really need to know if the user is a man or woman? Consider removing it altogether, or even leaving a blank space so users can share what they’re comfortable with. 4. Am I only thinking of the LGBTQ+ community during pride month? Remember that a rainbow logo won’t make your brand more inclusive, but thinking about how to make every user who visits your site feel represented year-round will! Want to talk about how we can make your website more inclusive? Let’s talk!

On pride month 🏳️🌈 corporate companies are known for changing their logo, and at times getting backlash for it as a simple logo change is seen as minimal effort. This year I've seen less of that, less LGBTQ+ activations on social, less LGBTQ brand + creator partnerships, a lot less of it all. Has the stigma/fear of backlash from minimal effort discouraged brands from trying to participate? Is the new pride month logo change 0 logo change now? Are brands playing it safe or scared? Growing a conscience about using pride month for a marketing ploy? Or have they not seen what they wanted from previous efforts on pride month in other years?

✨ LGBTQ+ History Month ✨ In case you didn't know, February is LGBTQ+ History month. This month, we’ve been sharing tips on how you can be a better ally to the LGBTQ+ community, including how checking your own privilege helps you to be more supportive, calling out discrimination, and remembering that everyone is unique with individual lived experiences. 👉 Allyship Tip 4: Be receptive to feedback 👈 Being open, receptive and listening to feedback from other people is so important. They may want to highlight something you could have done differently, give some advice so you can be more supportive, or educate you on their lived experiences or those of the LGBTQ+ community. Listening, not being defensive when being corrected, and allowing the other person to share openly with you will all go towards enabling you to be a better ally and better support to your LGBTQ+ peers! #lgbtqhistorymonth #inclusion #allyship #podtalent

Seventeen percent of Gen Z identify as LGBTQ+, more than any other generation. And this has nothing to do with the actual number of people who identify as anything other than cisgender and heterosexual – it has everything to do with feeling safe. Gen Z have grown up in a culture that is more accepting, inclusive and supportive to LGBTQ+ identities than ever before. As a result, more than ever feel empowered to be their true selves proudly and publicly. This inevitably means a generation who are happier, healthier, more empowered, more productive, and are likely to be more successful overall. And this is in a society that still clearly has further to go in terms of acceptance. We still have work to do, but the youth are proof that it’s working. Happy Pride, everyone.

✨ LGBTQ+ History Month ✨ In case you didn't know, February is LGBTQ+ History month. Last week, we shared the first in our series of tips on how you can be a better ally to the LGBTQ+ community, and how checking your privilege helps you to be more supportive to all marginalised groups, not just LGBTQ+ people. 👉 Allyship Tip 2: Call it out! 👈 Don’t underestimate the power of calling out micro-aggressions, people using incorrect pronouns, deadnaming, inappropriate jokes, or general discriminatory comments. It shouldn’t be the responsibility of members of the LGBTQ+ community to have to always stand up for themselves and point out when people are wrong – it’s everyone’s responsibility! Whether there are LGBTQ+ people present or not, calling out this behaviour every time it happens will hopefully lead to a safer and more comfortable environment for your LGBTQ+ colleagues. #lgbtqhistorymonth #inclusion #allyship #podtalent
