We all know that technology is advancing rapidly, but even more important is that the rate of that advancement is itself advancing! When I helped launch Singularity University over a decade ago with colleagues including Ray Kurzweill, Peter Diamandis and Salim Ismail, I noted that "any company designed for success in the 20th century is doomed to failure in the 21st". In the intervening years, the explosive development of everything from artificial intelligence to autonomous vehicles and nanotechnology to quantum computing has proven that prediction scarily accurate.   Companies that were able to re-orient themselves to take advantage of exponential, technologically-driven features such as staffing on demand, community & crowdsourcing, AI & algorithms, and leveraged assets, grew explosively, while the ones that couldn't, simply exploded.
