Consultancy Intern @ HealthArk Insights | MBA 2023-25 (General Management) @ Ahmedabad University | Finance Enthusiast
Dear Connections, Reflecting upon my first year of MBA, I will forever foster the learnings, the failures and a few bittersweet experiences that I have faced during the period. One of such bittersweet experiences to remember for years to come was getting shortlisted for summer placement at Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Ahmedabad. Stunned by the aura of the place, there was a mix of excitement and anxiety before the interview. The interview was taken by 3 panellists P1: Tell me about yourself. H: Told P1: So how will this institute help you achieve your goals? And why did you choose RBI? H: Told P1: What are its roles and functions? H: Told P2: You mentioned a competition called Smart Manager 2.0. Tell us more about it. H: Mentioned its rounds which included Quiz, presentation and GD. P2: How would you like your career to be seen after 5 to 10 years? H: Told (mentioned work-life balance) P1: A lot of corporate employees face issues with work-life balance, especially in the beginning stage. What are your views on that? H: Told P2: How will you manage a situation where your superiors are not cooperative and may be a bit rude? H: I would sit and talk, and try to handle the situation by talking things out. P3: What was your major during graduation in BBA? H: Mentioned General Management and talked about subjects I had studied P3: How did these 3 projects you mentioned in your CV, help you? What did you learn? H: Told about 3 industrial projects with different training periods. P3: What about your hobbies? H: Told P3: Okay, thanks. Do you have any questions? H: I asked a couple of questions about the intern's day, duration, and date of joining. P2: Answered H: Okay, thank you mam. Have a nice day. The results may not have been something I expected, but getting a chance to be 1 of those 125 great minds and experiencing the aura of the apex bank was surely one of the key highlights of my first year of MBA. #rbi #experience #internship #mba #apexbank

Transforming careers for Ph.D.'s Engineers & Researchers Through My RRAPID Framework | | Founder Dynamic Professionals Hub | Scientist (Ex-GE) | Speaker @ IITs & corporates
Congratulations you have two equally good job offers!! ➡️Job Offer A is with a well-established company that offers a great salary and excellent benefits. The work involves collaborating with a large team on high-profile projects. Also, your hard work during internship played a big role in landing you this offer ➡️Job Offer B is from a competitor company, with equal compensation, and the opportunity to work on projects that incline more towards creativity and innovation. So now are you confused which job to move forward with? How do you ensure you take the best possible decision that pans out in your best interest in an unpredictable future? Well, the answer boils down to your values. Considering the money part of the equation remaining the same, just for the sake of simplicity Lets assume you value collaboration or familiarity more, so you might want to go for Job A. But if you value creativity more, then you would opt for Job B. Though, in reality, job decisions can be more complex, involving multiple factors such as work-life balance, growth opportunities, company culture, and location. And so no amount of rational thinking is helpful in arriving at a decision especially when there is a lot at stake. That is when you shift your focus from the consequences of the decisions to your core values. Because values are like finding your internal compass, of what’s most appropriate for you. And once you integrate your values with your career, it’s a personal brand that you are not only building, but living it, which would take time, enormous efforts and a lot of self-awareness. Because career is a long term came, and not a short-term gig of just landing your dream job. This weekend was spent on one such reflective session with a batch of 200 MBA students at XLRI Jamshedpur. #rimadey #valuesmatter #values P.S: this was also my first collaborative work with CA Sarita Mehra Pandey Mehra Pandey. And it was such a tremendous learning curve with you, look forward to more. PPS: the above job secnario happend with me back in 2009 during recession and I chose option A because I value collaboration.

8 years back when I was in XLRI, the only thing that mattered to us was CTC. It was the only criteria for most people to be successful and the only thing we were chasing. There was a mad race to get good grades, CV points, internships, etc. so that we could get shortlisted by companies coming early who were reputed brands and offered big bucks. People who were placed later on Day 1 or Day 2 at lesser CTC felt they were losers and failures. Fast forward to today, some of the most unhappy folks are the one who got placed in companies offering higher CTC. They have little work-life balance, highly stressful life, spend weekends working or traveling and their mental health is deteriorating very fast. Some of the happiest folks in our batch are the ones who started with less CTC, got great roles and mentorship, has steady career growth, had proper work-life balance and manageable stress. Some of them even switched to good CTC in later years. When I interact with college students, I feel they have same criteria, they are still running behind CTC. Money is important, no doubt in that, but only money is not important. College students and freshers should pick a brand they can fit at, a culture they can thrive at and an ecosystem they can learn at. Money will follow sooner or later. Earning lesser CTC in your early years does not make anyone a loser, but constantly running a mad rat race for CTC will definitely burn you down. Prioritize elements like culture, learning, brand, and role as much as you prioritize money and life won't look like a never-ending race. #culture #money #life #CTC

Let's hear HIS story full of excitement, hard work, challenges, and life-changing experiences. Harsh Bavishi Hey everyone, I'm Harsh Bavishi, hailing from Chennai. I'm fresh out of IFMR GSB - Krea University with an MBA. Before diving into the business world, I navigated the realm of Finance and Accountancy at Christ University, Bengaluru. I even had a stint as an Audit Analyst at Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP before I joined for my two-year full-time MBA Program. My journey into the corporate world kicked off with a bang. My first internship interview was with JPMorgan Chase & Co. for the coveted CADP role. Despite a stumble in a previous interview, I nailed this one, thanks to my past experiences and extracurricular endeavors at Christ University. Joining JPMC for my internship was like stepping into a world of endless possibilities. The support and camaraderie within my team and across departments made it an incredibly fulfilling experience. Every day was a new adventure filled with learning and growth. Securing a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) from JPMC for the CADP program was the cherry on top. It meant I didn't have to go through the nerve-wracking final placement interviews. Instead, I could focus on my studies in the second year alongside the Student Council President role I had taken up. To all the aspiring MBA students: Embrace every opportunity, learn from every experience, and believe in your abilities. Success isn't just about landing a job but your journey to get there. Keep pushing forward, and your dreams will become reality. #carrer #connections #team #share #opportunities #placements #mba #work #success #management #learning #future #teamwork #planning #skilledsapiens #growth

For the past two years, I've embarked on a personal and professional odyssey – one fueled by a thirst for knowledge and a desire to push my boundaries. As a seasoned executive in the banking industry and a passionate percussionist, my life was a carefully orchestrated symphony. Yet, the hunger for growth led me to pursue an MBA, a decision that ignited both excitement and trepidation. The MBA itself was daunting. Juggling the demanding curriculum with my existing commitments felt like a high-wire act. Balancing work deadlines, late-night study sessions, and the relentless practice of my musical passion pushed me to my limits. Sacrifices had to be made, including time away from loved ones. But within this crucible of challenge, I discovered a wellspring of resilience. I honed my time management skills, becoming a master of scheduling and prioritizing. The corporate environment became my training ground, where I learned the nuances of professional etiquette and punctuality. The pursuit of excellence became second nature, as I strived to consistently exceed expectations and win the respect of my superiors. This dedication led me to my current summer internship at CSB Bank in Delhi, a significant distance from my home base. It's a testament to the commitment I'm prepared to make to propel my career forward. The past two years have been a transformative journey. I've learned the power of sacrifice, the importance of self-reliance, and the art of navigating the complexities of work-life balance. Above all, this experience solidified the belief that with unwavering determination, anything is achievable. This is more than just a LinkedIn post; it's a declaration of my dedication to lifelong learning and a relentless pursuit of excellence. I'm confident that the skills and knowledge I've cultivated will make me an invaluable asset to any organization. #LifelongLearner #SelfMade #ConfidentlyMe #OwnYourJourney #SuccessThroughSacrifice #MBAJourney #BalancedLife

Inspired by Visionaries: Lessons from Steve Jobs In my journey of personal and professional growth, I've always sought inspiration from those who dared to think differently and pushed the boundaries of innovation. One such figure who has profoundly impacted my outlook is Steve Jobs. His biography, which is my favorite book, has been a source of constant inspiration and motivation. Steve Jobs’ relentless pursuit of excellence and his unwavering belief in the power of innovation have taught me invaluable lessons. His ability to envision the future and turn his ideas into reality has been a guiding light in my own endeavors. Whether it's tackling complex financial analyses during my internship at Adani RMRW Pvt Ltd or navigating the challenges of my MBA at BIT Mesra, I strive to apply the principles of creativity, perseverance, and attention to detail that Jobs exemplified. Standing here, reflecting on my journey, I am reminded of a quote by Steve Jobs: "The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do." This mindset has driven me to push my limits, embrace new challenges, and continuously seek growth. Thank you to all the mentors, colleagues, and friends who have supported me along the way. As I continue on this path, I am excited to see where this inspiration will take me and how I can contribute to creating something meaningful and impactful. Here’s to thinking differently and making a difference! #Inspiration #SteveJobs #PersonalGrowth #Innovation #Finance #MBA #BITMesra #AdaniRMRW #Journey
