We have been using #PredictiveAI for early stage testing for about a year now. So what have we learnt as InnoPredict.AI approaches its first birthday? #AI can definitely be an exciting and powerful enabler for innovation BUT ... It is critical that a models training data accurately reflects your target consumers' rapidly evolving needs and aspirations. In our R&D we found that using AI alone is not the best predictor of future potential. It can perform quite well for products that look like others already in the market but not for truly innovative ones. Navigating AI's Current Landscape: Uncovering Key Limitations. In the grand scheme of recent human advancements in technology, the mainstream introduction of AI in 2023 stands as an unparalleled milestone. Yet even in this era of rapid progress, traditional machine learning grapples with a number of challenges that have some users questioning whether its right for their industry. So today, I wanted to dig a little deeper into the AI landscape and explore some of the challenges that it’s currently facing. But before I do that, did you know that for all things AI and business, 35% of all companies are actively using it, while an additional 42% are exploring it's implementation for the future! Plus, according to a renowned TechJury article, 91.5% of leading businesses are already consistently investing in all things AI related. These statistics underscore the profound impact AI is having on industries worldwide. Going one step further, a glance at a recent O'Reilly report, reveals the current distribution of AI usage across industries on a global scale: - Technology: 17% - Financial Services: 15% - Healthcare: 9% - Education: 8% - Government/Public Sector: 6% - Telecomm: 5% - Manufacturing: 4% - Retail: 4% - Media: 3% - Energy: 3% - Defence/Security: 3% - Other: 22% In our own exploration into AI at Fortress Learning, we've witnessed the extraordinary growth and accomplishments of AI language models, such as ChatGPT. However, as others are also finding out, these advancements come with a caveat, a one-dimensional approach and an over-reliance on historical data. This means that for anyone attempting to solve a problem in real time, the solution is almost instantly out of date before they've even begun. While recognising these challenges, it's vital to note that they don't diminish the potential of AI. In the coming days, I'll delve deeper into the main limitations real life users are reporting, exploring real-world examples and potential solutions.
