Drawing from her interdisciplinary background in technology, business, law and society, Katina explores the double face of AI dependent on the strategic vantage point of the player, analogous to a game of chess. Whether AI is good or bad, really depends on who the #decisionmaker is, their #intentionality and the #context of the #game. The talk will delve into the socio-technical landscape of AI, and how environmental dimensions are critical in closing the policy-practice pacing problem. Prof. Michael will present several scenarios in which organizations have been held accountable whereby demonstrating the need for emphasis on corporate social responsibility (#CSR) and environmental, social, and governance (#ESG) priorities. This talk aims to raise awareness about the double face of AI, the importance of #human #leadership, and #failures in the loop and their #socialimplications. Really proud of Salah Hamdoun of School for the Future of Innovation in Society at ASU ASU College of Global Futures who will also be presenting on AI and #mentalhealth technology. I am excited to share certificates of learning outcome by Researcher Academy (Elsevier) related to Gen AI in research workflow, effective research design and figure, methodologies, manuscript writing as beginner. I feel always pleasures to get involved in research activities and be a innovator of my field interest, thoughts provoking and creative mind set will shape easy future in research and development. Curiosity of discovering something new always takes time and masterminds people's across globe while handling data analysis and shaping your research input/ output requires technical soft skills which are very crucial for making it best ever. Being master or PhD graduates is nothing unless you haven't gained hand on training. Research objectives always define potential outcomes. #researchmind Researcher Academy #courses #technicalities #workshops #softskills #researchtraining #Advancement #tools #science #AI

🎓 Excited to share that I’ve recently started my postgraduate degree at UCL, pursuing a master’s in AI for Sustainable Development! 🌍🤖 Coming from an Applied Maths background , I had the chance to explore the mathematics behind AI & ML during my undergraduate studies. That foundational knowledge sparked a curiosity in me, and I knew I wanted to dive deeper into these technologies at a postgraduate level. I’m really excited about expanding my understanding of AI, especially at the intersection of sustainability and technology—two areas I’m deeply passionate about. I look forward to learning more and collaborating with others who share the vision of using AI for a better, more sustainable future! #AI #SustainableDevelopment #UCL #PostgraduateLife #TechForGood #AppliedMaths #MachineLearning

I’m excited to share a significant milestone in my undergraduate research project titled “Impact of AI on Students’ Learning and Academic Performance: A Case Study of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria,” under the supervision of Mr. CN Nnamai. Initially, I proposed using simple random sampling for our survey. However, my supervisor suggested stratified sampling to ensure we capture insights from all angles of the university. This approach required detailed information about the university’s population, faculties, and the population of each faculty. With a total undergraduate population of 49,954 students and 18 faculties, I faced a challenge: I couldn’t obtain the exact population for each faculty. Despite sending emails to faculty administrators, I didn’t get any responses. Determined to move forward, I estimated the population of each faculty based on the number of departments. I created an Excel sheet to calculate these estimates, ensuring our sampling method would be as accurate as possible. Today, I presented my work to my supervisor, and I’m thrilled to share that it was well-received! 🎉 This experience has taught me the importance of adaptability and resourcefulness in research. I’m looking forward to the next steps in my project and the insights we will uncover about the impact of AI on student learning and academic performance. #Research #AI #Education #StratifiedSampling #AhmaduBelloUniversity #UndergraduateResearch

Nearly two years after the launch of ChatGPT, much attention has been paid to how Generative AI can automate current teaching models and promote efficiencies in education. Yet, Generative AI also offers a far bolder opportunity to transform the very way students learn: through creation. We also know from our soon-to-be- released Stanford Accelerator for Learning research and from a recent May 2024 survey from the Walton Family Foundation that educators are seeking creative applications as their top use case with Generative AI. In this context, the Stanford Accelerator for Learning is launching a new seed grant program: Learning Through Creation with Generative AI, with two broad goals: ✔ Foster new solutions focused on learning through creation with AI technologies. ✔ Shape the discourse about the use of Generative AI beyond efficiency toward empowering educators and learners themselves toward innovative and creative use cases. The seed grant is open to faculty, staff and students at Stanford University. External partners are also welcome to participate in teaming up with our Stanford scholars. If you want to learn more about efficiency and innovation in the age of AI, I recommend this video from ASU+GSV Summit featuring Stanford University Graduate School of Education Dean Schwartz here: https://lnkd.in/gKDzgCb2 Stanford Accelerator for Learning 🚀 Thank you to my amazing colleagues, Victor Lee, Catherine Chase, Kristen Blair, Josh Weiss, Reuben Thiessen, Nereyda S., Nancy Waymack, Chris Agnew, and Isabel Sacks.
Generative AI offers a bold opportunity to transform the very way people learn: through creation. In our newest seed grant, the Stanford Accelerator for Learning and Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) invite proposals exploring genAI’s potential to support learning through creative production, thought, or expression. We seek to fund research on how genAI influences learning-by-making, imaginative exploration, and the development of creative abilities. Projects may target creators such as students, teachers, adults, or families, across various domains including STEM, arts, humanities and social sciences, and in diverse settings such as workplaces, museums, classrooms, and homes. The grant is open to Stanford faculty, academic staff, postdocs, and students. Learn more and register for an info session: https://lnkd.in/g65PpcdR
