"The Happiest Man on Earth," written by Eddie Jaku, is an exceptional and essential book that leaves us feeling blessed and grateful for life. Despite enduring a series of humiliations during World War II, including being labeled as Jews in Germany and witnessing the scattering of his entire family to death camps, Eddie persevered through unimaginable suffering. Over the next seven years, Eddie faced unimaginable horrors every day. Despite seven years filled with brutality, he escaped from the death camp. With immense pain, he chose to name the book "The Happiest Man on Earth," which is a big surprise. The author imparts valuable leadership lessons: - Everyone always has a choice to be good or bad, and it is up to us to decide. - Expressing gratitude and acknowledging blessings from the universe. - Maintaining a positive attitude despite immense pain. - Recognizing the shared humanity in everyone's struggles. - Believing in the power of each individual to make a positive change in the world. - Emphasizing the importance of persistence and taking small steps forward every day. - Prioritizing values over material possessions, power, or money.

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Renew conference in Washington, DC, where I heard from a remarkable lineup of leaders, including Pastor and bestselling author Mark Batterson. His insights were nothing short of inspiring, leaving me reflecting on the power of faith, vision, and perseverance in both personal and professional life. 👉 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗯𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗲 This powerful reminder highlights that the most significant breakthroughs often come from the biggest challenges. When we face situations that feel beyond our control, it’s not a sign to back down—it’s an invitation to step forward with faith. 👉 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆; 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗲, 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁 If your goals and dreams are within your current capabilities, they’re not big enough. When we dream bigger than ourselves, we leave room for the kind of impact that can only come from a God bigger than us. 👉 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂. 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗱 This was a powerful reminder of the balance between action and faith. We can’t just sit back and wait for things to happen. Hard work, dedication, and discipline are critical to achieving any goal, but we must also acknowledge that we’re not in control of anything. If we don’t pray first, our work won’t work. Feeling inspired and ready to apply these insights to my own journey!

𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧 When a client or potential client is eager to begin applying principles from the`[Restoration Group](https://lnkd.in/gYwS7u9H "") `Integrated Business Guide and asks where to start, I point them to this this one. Why? 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁, connection to the Vine is essential to integrating ones faith at work and prayer keeps us attached to His life giving guidance and encouragement. 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱, the real power of this principle is in the quiet, alone moments of inviting God into your work. Yes, there are times this principle needs to be done publicly as an encouragement and example to others, but I believe it carries its greatest power in shaping OUR heart toward our team, clients, decisions, interpersonal conflicts, challenges, etc. So, start there. Think of one member of your team that you can pray for today. And do it. Don't over think it. No need to share it. Just do it.

ROBBIE BURNS: LEADERSHIP WISDOM 3 Today, 25 Jan 24, is the 265th anniversary of Robert Burn’s birth. Building on my earlier posts (citing his poems “To a Louse” and “To a Mouse”), here is a third and final piece about some leadership wisdom we can perhaps draw from his fabulously rich body of work. Legacy. We all leave a legacy. When we leave a meeting. When we move jobs. When we retire. When we die. How much of this is intentional? Or at least hoped for? How much of it is unintentional? It is, after all, something that others construct. How aware are we of what we have left so far? What are our sources of knowing? I don’t know if Burns, who died when he was 37, thought he would be celebrated the world over for his work focusing on the universal themes of love, Nature, and social issues, but for me and many other Scots and non-Scots the world over he is an inspiration. What’s your legacy? Clarity and support for those engaged in difficult work? Some tangible achievement or other? Lives enriched or maybe saved? Trustworthiness and consistency? Nervousness and uncertainty? Fear and loathing? Love and respect? Inspiration and encouragement? As a wise wag once asked, “What’s the worst thing people can say about you when you have left the room?” Another wise wag replied. “Nothing.” 😁 #RobertBurns #LeadershipWisdom #Poetry
