This project highlights Seriti’s commitment to a circular economy by utilising mine-impacted water from our New Denmark Colliery and upskilling workers from the coal sector, with 10% of Seriti Green’s workforce coming from this background. Tunisia Welcomes Zhero Europe’s Medlink Project for Renewable Energy. On June 12, 2024, the Tunisia Investment Authority welcomed Zhero Europe, a company specializing in large-scale green energy projects. Zhero Europe is currently developing the Medlink project, which aims to create a North-South energy corridor using high-voltage direct current (HVDC) lines to connect renewable energy production in Tunisia. This project includes the construction of renewable power plants and the export of electricity.During the meeting, the TIA provided Zhero Europe with a detailed overview of Tunisia's favorable investment climate, emphasizing the country's strategic potential as a hub for green energy production and export. 🌞🔋 Zelestra Expands Solar Footprint with Two New Plants in Spain 📢 Zelestra, the Swedish leader in renewable energy development, is breaking new ground with the construction of two solar plants in Guadalajara and Albacete, Spain. These facilities will add a combined capacity of 83 megawatts peak (MWp), helping to prevent the emission of over 71,500 tons of CO2 annually. 🌍The energy generated by these solar plants will supply Graphic Packaging International, a U.S.-based leader in renewable and recycled packaging materials, through a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). This partnership will power their facilities in Cantabria and Barcelona, highlighting a shared commitment to sustainable practices. 🏗️The José Cabrera plant in Guadalajara will have a capacity of 50.4 MWp, while Socovos II in Albacete will contribute 33 MWp. Together, they will generate enough electricity to power 37,500 households annually, with operations expected to begin next year. 📈 Leo Moreno, CEO of Zelestra, stated, "We are proud to contribute to Spain's energy future, creating both economic and environmental benefits. Ilmatar's offshore project Bothnia is entering the next phase with upcoming open consultations in Rauma, Kristiinankaupunki and online. Bothnia is one of Finland's most significant offshore projects – together, the two areas cover nearly 1.200 km2 with a potential production capacity of 4 GW. "Ilmatar's own operations already have a positive climate impact, but we also aim to be the foundation for more companies and industrial sectors to move towards greater sustainability.
