Asia Pacific Airlines See Strong Growth in Air Cargo Demand 🌏 Cargo Surge: Asia Pacific airlines saw a 13.7% increase in international air cargo demand in April, driven by consumer and intermediate goods. Despite a rise in freight capacity, the load factor slightly declined. Over the first four months of 2024, demand surged by 15.4%, supported by robust global demand and positive business confidence. June air cargo demand soared 14.1% in cargo ton-kilometers from the same month last year, the seventh consecutive month of double-digit year-on-year growth, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said. The strong demand resulted in volumes exceeding 2023, 2022, and even the record-breaking 2021 levels, said the association which represents 330 airlines comprising 80% of global air traffic. #aircargo #aviation

Air cargo volumes out of Central and South America (CSA) have taken off in the last few weeks of April ahead of Mothers’ Day celebrations in North America. Analysis from WorldACD shows that air cargo volumes from CSA increased by 17% week on week in week 17, following on from a rise of 14% in week 16.
