In these challenging times where global refugee crises and conflicts shake the world agenda, our study focuses on national policies and societal approaches in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, and Lithuania. 🌍🤝 Explore how these countries address complex issues by visiting our "Peace Research" page through the link. 📚 📍https://lnkd.in/dVDJ4rQA #EiG #PeaceatHomePeaceintheWorld

I truly believe in standing by each other, not just lending a hand. We all need someone in our corner, cheering us on and helping us reach our dreams. It's about more than just helping – it's about supporting by believing in each other's abilities and giving each other the support we need to succeed. This could happen to you sooner then you think, displacement is coming for many of us in the next decades. 1 in 7 globally by 2050 By some estimates. Your friends, family and loved ones perhaps even yourself are not safe from displacement. My heart weeps tonight, more fires in the refugee camps in Bangladesh, the Rohingya as a people deserve a dignified and safe life. 1st and foremost in their rightful homes in Myanmar, but also while in refuge in Bangladesh. These simple bamboo and tarp shelters could and should be able to be built to resist these forces. As a shelter professional who has worked extensively in the camps, I know all to well the forces holding this necessity back. It would require meaningful effort from US and other nations oand more compassion from the Government of Bangladesh to ALLOW for the provision of more evolved shelters in the camps. This is a something the government of Bangladesh has opposed since day 1. It would mean accepting the protracted stay of refugees, a thing many nations struggle with it seams. The plight of the Rohingya is unique but obviously not isolated, we as a species can and should do more to protect our species from harms way. The karmic consequences of inaction is more pain.

Peace Begins with Me: On this International Peace Day, I join hands with people from all corners of the globe to celebrate the transformative power of peace. As a humanitarian and peace advocate, I believe that peace is not just the absence of conflict, but a state of mind that fosters understanding, empathy, and cooperation. As we mark this special day, I am reminded of the countless individuals and communities around the world who are working tirelessly to promote peace, reconciliation, and social justice. From conflict zones to refugee camps, from disaster-stricken areas to marginalized communities, peacebuilders are working selflessly to bring hope and healing to those affected by war, violence, and inequality. But peace is not just the responsibility of those on the frontlines. It is a collective effort that requires each and every one of us to play a role. We must strive to build bridges of understanding between nations, cultures, and communities. We must stand against hate speech, discrimination, and violence in all its forms. We must nurture empathy, compassion, and kindness in our daily interactions. Peace begins with me. Peace begins with you. Let us make it a reality.. #InternationalPeaceDay #Peacebuilding # IOM - UN Migration #EU #Nigeria 😊

We are facing systemic discrimination and persecution, confront a dire erosion of environmental justice that renders us exceptionally vulnerable to both natural and man-made disasters. Displacement and loss of ancestral lands due to state-sponsored violence in Myanmar have disrupted traditional livelihoods, pushing our communities into densely populated and ecologically fragile regions in both Bangladesh and Myanmar. This forced concentration, coupled with inadequate infrastructure and living conditions in refugee camps, has intensified the susceptibility of the Rohingya to environmental hazards. The recurring fires during the dry season in both Bangladesh and Myanmar pose a grave threat, exacerbated by the absence of proper fire mitigation measures and the flammable materials used in makeshift shelters. The loss of environmental justice, intertwined with displacement, exacerbates the Rohingya's vulnerability.
