Yesterday, the Embassy hosted the closing reception for the Southeast Asia Young Leaders’ Programme, celebrating another highly successful Shangri-La Dialogue organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS). The IISS Southeast Asia Young Leaders’ Programme brings a new generation of strategic thinkers from Southeast Asia and countries of strategic importance to the region to the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue each year. They engage in high-level discussions on complex regional security challenges and expand their networks through meetings with ministers and high-ranking officials. The region holds significant importance for Norway, with next year marking a decade since we became a sectoral dialogue partner with ASEAN. This partnership is highly valued and prioritized by both sides, and our collaboration has yielded substantial benefits, particularly in the maritime field and driving the green transition. The DCO Secretary-General, Deemah AlYahya met today with H.E. Giorgos Gerapetritis, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic of Greece. During their discussion, the minister highlighted the importance of global cooperation among countries in managing the growth and development of the digital landscape. He also emphasized the crucial role of institutions like the DCO in adeptly tackling the challenges presented by the continually evolving digital era. #DigitalProsperity4All

✨PRIMA has been granted an additional three years, now falling under Horizon Europe for the period 2025-2027! 🚀 The Decision entering into force today was published in the Official Journal of the European Union (Decision (EU) 2024/1167), extending the partnership’s activities until 2027. PRIMA co-chairs Angelo Riccaboni and Mohamed El-Shinawi celebrate this important milestones with a joint statement: “PRIMA has become a crucial player in scientific research and science diplomacy in the Euro-Mediterranean region. We believe that supporting research and innovation must be one of the main pillars of the Sustainable Development Strategy in our region. It is the cornerstone of social and economic progress in developing countries.” PRIMA is now setting its sights on the future, notably through the CSA FUTURE4PRIMA setting the preparatory steps to renew the partnership under the next framework programme.
