Men's Health Awareness Month is observed every June to raise awareness about men's health issues and encourage men to prioritize their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. During this month, various organizations and health professionals conduct research to identify the most prevalent health problems that affect men, such as heart disease, prostate cancer, and depression. Through education and advocacy, Men's Health Awareness Month aims to promote early detection, prevention, and treatment of these health issues, and empower men to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. ICA completed a systematic review of the comparative effectiveness and safety of radical prostatectomy performed using robot assisted laparoscopic surgery versus non-robot assisted laparoscopic surgery versus open surgery, for patients 35 years or older with treatment-naïve prostate cancer. One of the main outcomes of interest is how the various surgical techniques impact overall survival. This research aligns with ICA’s vision to break down data barriers and enable perceptive, timely and accurate information-driven decision-making on matters that most impact our lives and livelihood. #Menshealthmatters

We recently shared new field data from D. Kyle Hogarth, MD, FCCP UChicago Medicine & Dr. Bobby Mahajan MD, FCCP, DAABIP Medical Director, Interventional Pulmonology Inova Fairfax Hospital detailing early experience using the Galaxy System. The data represents findings from 165 total patient procedures investigating 190 total lesions. Key findings include: * The white papers reported diagnostic yield with a range of 92-96% observed by Dr Hogarth and 96% by Dr Mahajan. * The average lesion size ranged from 14mm to 16mm, with more than one-third of them less than or equal to 10mm in size. * Approximately 88% and 75% of lesions navigated to and biopsied by Dr Hogarth and Dr Mahajan, respectively, were found in the outer 1/3 or pleura of the lung. Overall, the average procedure time did not exceed 46 minutes at either location. Unlocking the Potential of FFR-CT in Revascularization Planning. 🔬 Our latest study represents a pioneering investigation into the capability of coronary FFR-CT to predict graft failure post-CABG. 📊 Findings unveiled that elevated FFR-CT values at future anastomosis sites correlated with subsequent graft dysfunction. This innovative approach facilitates more informed decision-making on coronary revascularization strategies, potentially prompting increased consideration of PCI in cases of multivessel disease. 💡 Implications: Our results underscore the importance of functional evaluation and FFR-CT role in guiding revascularization strategies. Notably, surgical guidelines may not mandate pre-revascularization functional assessment, potentially contributing to graft failures. Our study sheds light on FFR-CT's critical role in mitigating such risks. 🔍 To learn more, learn with our cases: https://lnkd.in/gbsBhj27 #Research #CABG #FFRCT #Cardiology #HealthcareInnovation https://lnkd.in/da_nH8jQ
